obviously you cant do anything with the altitude issue.

honestly man you had a PROFESSIONAL, not some friend with a fast car tell you what to do. we all have friends with fast cars. my good friend has 3 camaros (838, 1085, and 1900 rwhp) he helped me put my kit together as well... BUT DUDE listen to that guy... if you are going to upgrade the turbo you NEED to upgrade the intercooler. REMEMBER that the name of the game isnt who has the biggest turbo if it were that easy everyone here would have 1000hp cars its the entire package, combination, and balance of your total turbo system. air, fuel, spark, engine management, drivetrain, driver, cooling, etc.

the turbo is only one part of it. youll have to buy one eventually and you might as well buy it now, enjoy the benefits, and when you start the second stage of your build upgrade the turbo as well. thats just my 2 cents thoguh

Dang, another at least $500 just for another intercooler. Lemme talk to my friend first. He has a 620WHP Prelude and he is the one who installed my kit. Anyway, so should I just get a 3076R? Because my turbo seems baby-ish for what power I want.

Ok, I am trying my best here.

1st- no go on the larger turbo until you get your IC issue fixed. Like I said it will only make your issue worse.

2nd- Who quoted you $500 for an intercooler? And what core is it?

3rd-What does a 620whp Prelude have to do with anything? Just out of curiosity who is it? The reason I ask, is I know some people in your area and one has a high hp Prelude.

4th- Do you have future plans on making more than your desired goals of 325whp?

Regards-

Todd

His name is Steve, he is running 2 BOVs has a H32 bottom end and a H22 head. It's seriously sick. Running 30 lbs. Yea, I want to fully build the motor SOMEDAY. So, if I keep my turbo as it is, how the heck do I get to around 325WHP?

Your turbo on your setup will support over 400whp. Just need the right balance of parts.

I am just trying to help you so please don't take anything I say the wrong way.

You have a choice...the easy way (least expensive) or the hard way (most expensive)

You can buy a larger turbo in this case the Gt3076R and spend around $1100.00 and not get anywhwere......sooner than later anyways..and be in the same place you are now.

Or do things in a step by step process that you will benefit from every step of the way.

Even if later on down the road you decide to purchase a larger turbo if you do the intercooler now you will benefit from it later.

If you really want the GT3076R down the road, when purchasing an intercooler make sure it has the capablility of handling the growth you plan. This way you only have to do it once.

Think farther down the road if you plan on sticking with it. This way you get more out of your money.

Here comes the sales pitch........if you need help with picking and purchasing a core, I am here to help.( sorry have to do it every now and then)

All my new kits come with a Garrett core with custom tanks...no more run of the mill intercoolers.

Another question for you.....did you ever dyno the car before the turbo kit?

Having fun yet?

Regards-

Todd

Nope, I didn't dyno it before the kit. I was going to, but couldn't. I was somewhere between 140WHP to 150WHP. So. how the heck do I get to at LEAST 300WHP and 300WTQ with this set up? I am already running 9.5 lbs and I think that is kinda high for starters. I think I may just go with a 1 BAR spring (14 lbs) to make it 12 lbs.

But then you still have the same problem( if it truly is the IC) but its also the easiest and most economical option. Just don't forget that if you turn up the boost you need to retune. Or at least I recommend it.

After that, I would then try the better IC route, I think you might pick up quite a bit of power at your current boost levels.

Between the IC and turning up the boost you'll be over 300 and probably pretty close to your current goal.

Have fun

Todd

I just don't think the intercooler is causing the lack of power. Not sure where else to get another intercooler. How much are they usually?

Never heard of them. I got tuned and dyno'd at MAC Autosports, VERY nice people there. I will have them build my car if I ever do it.

Yeah thats who I wanted to do it, but their tuner was out of town when I had time to get it done. Trenz is outside of Denver. Customer service wise they can't compete with MAC, but they do nice work.

Open WG are messy.

I wish I was boosted, but I'm too poor right now; maybe next year. I was looking at the Greddy kit.
