don't know why he hasn't been on the boards. I'm supposed to be meeting him up on Saturday for a 3 hour cruize with some vipers and hondas and whatnot.

You won't have soot under your car cause the kit comes with a dump tube that putsht the exhaust from the WG under the engine bay.

And that sound only comes on when the WG opens up, which is at full boost. Other then at full boost, it will soudn the same recirced or dumped to atmosphere...but you will get more power and better response wiht the WG open dump.

Tell you what, though, when my $hit opens up, people actually get scared!

It doesnt dump into the exhaust unless you pay extra for Todd to do so. The dump tube meaty is taking about is simply that a tube the directs the flow of the dump at the pavement instead of at your block.

The basik kit comes with neither, you have to either be really balsy and let it run completely open pointed toward your motor or go get a custom dump tube fabbed up.

My only concern right now as you can probably tell in the pictures is that my wastegate looks like its going to be a tight fit to the mani, might come close to touching a runner.

no dump tube on the basic? get one made at a muffler shop. Your engine bay is gonna be a mess.

Take some pics of the WG mounted on the mani so we can see what you mean about touchign the runner.

^^^^ fixed. =)

Yeah, I think my mani was the first "official" basik mani so probably just a slight wrong measurement. This is going to be taken care of though.

Ace - Todd changed his mind about a week into the basik kit to swap over to external. Uses a Tial 38mm (see picture in 2nd post)

Meaty - No, no dump tube at all included. He could have made one but I would have had to ask earlier. Maybe he can make me one that will ship out this coming Tuesday (wink wink Todd !!!!!!!)

FTR, Open dump sounds GREAT! and it def gets attention. i scared alot of folks cuz they thought i was running 11's or sumthing with that sound coming from underhood rofl. of course the ZPI kits ran OD and when u get into boost they sound like Jets. imagine a really loud "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" sound. in fact! i have vid's of me getting into boost (and shifting super slowly rofl) let me post them for all you who would like to hear open dump. remember this is a ZPI kit and also the mic on my digicam is not the most bestliest and yo ears prolly mo'betterer than this. =)

aww man im not to pleased to hear this...i lived the life of seeing what happens with no dump tube. and my car def needed sum degreaser and plenty of time after my zpi came off. open dump soots things up pretty good. HOWEVER it doesnt travel very far away from the "line of fire" so where its pointed there will be plenty but where it isnt pointed there will be nothing. imma want that dump tube tho if the wastegate is firing right AT the block. all that extra heat that the block doesnt need.
