It may be impossible to "prove" beyond a reasonable doubt, but heatshields were installed there for a reason on the stock headers...and when using a supercharger, exhaust gases will be even hotter.

I would never use any header (stock or aftermarket) without some type of heat shield, ceramic coating or heat wrap. Stick an EGT sensor in the manifold and see what those readings are under full acceleration with a supercharger setup and you'll see what I mean.....

My warranty was the one that was voided, and it was due to the header. The only reason that I was upset with TRD was how they dealt with me on the phone, also, it states that doing anything to the S/C would void the warranty.
I mistook that and changed my header, and figured a header wouldnt void the warranty, but as I found out it has.
OutCrnU is not looking to get anything from TRD at this point, and is just looking to fix it himself.
Someone has already put new seals in the S/C unit and it has seemed to have fixed the problem, I hope they come in and let us know what the part number for the seal is, and where they purchased this said seal.

I think it was green box but I though he used FIPG to make the seal.. I could be wrong on that though.

OK there was FIPG used but he did find a seal. So I was slightly off. I'm wondering what the part # for the seal is????

was there any evidence of too much oil coming in and too little flow on the outlet? I am still curious to see if it is overoiled.

It's not really TRD that isn't offerning the parts it's Vortech. They ,for some reason, won't sell replacement parts for any of their S/C's. Actually they never have. However they do offer rebuilds for their S/C's. Right now they won't even talk to you anbout the TRD S/C becaue of red tape and what not. There will have to be something offered in the future to have them rebuilt. You can do it with the Tacoma S/C's so i'm sure it will mot be tooo long before it is offered.

What will the techs tell me if I roll up with leaking seals, the tamper cap untampered with, a ceramic coating and a heat wrap and shroud over the header?

I'll even grab ahold of the header with the car on and see if the tech can tell me with a straight face that the heat was the deciding factor. I'll video tape that and send it to TRD/Vortech and see what they say.

Damn it. I want some speed in this car.

But I don't want to constantly tinker with a turbo and I don't want to get screwed for 3,000 due to a (seemingly) unaddressed weak point (other than a 'Covering our ___' clause in the warranty) and currently/permanently unavailable replacements.

Feh

Keep in mind that there are only like 4 people with a leak as of right now. From what I remember they all had a pulley installed along with the header. So between a possible installation error, pulley, and a header who knows what caused the problem. I think there was a combo of a few different things that caused the leak.
