So I was able to ride in a new Genesis 4cyl Track Edition coupe with an upgraded LoveFab kit on it. Nice tubular manifold, 3" downpipe, 3" exhaust, 3071R @ 20 PSI.......NOT impressed.

Our S1 on 12 PSI felt much faster. And it was confirmed when we swapped dyno numbers from ours on a Mustang Dyno and theirs on one too. Yeah..................... 327whp on 21 PSI.

id like to the see the 6cyl turbocharged but im sure space is very very limited.

 

Yeah those engines are VERY weird and seem to run REAL hot.

For granted it could be tune, but who knows.......

 

wow, how could it do so terrible? bad tune? i know it is nearly a half a liter smaller than the tc engine, but it is the same engine from the EVO right? and while i am sure that the RWD platform has more drivetrain loss than the front wheel drive tc, what could the culpret be?

one of the EVO's in my autocross club puts down 350 whp at like 25 psi on the stock turbo, why is the genesis so weak?

oh well, it can still drift better than the tc can, with the exception of gushi and foust's tc's.

 

prolly an ubber small rad and limited air flow from the looks of em...I havnt looked at them in person so idk.

 

The car is so de-tuned because they cant have the turbo 4 spanking around the N/A 6. I have yet to see any of them with mods but i do know that the stock turbo 4 is nothing to write home about.

 

Dump as much money into a Gen Coupe turbo as it does to turbo a tC right and Im sure you could see some pretty damn nice results.

 

It's a Variation of an Evo X Engine.. more like a Lancer Ralliart Engine.
It's an Engine group shared between Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and Chrysler.
It's weird, because as much hype as there was for these cars before they came out.. I really don't see too many in the streets.

 

yeah, i haven't seen a single one on the street yet either. which is strange cuz around here, the moment the new camry, accord, civic corolla comes out, i see them everywhere.

but the new hyundai genesis and genesis coupe, i have so far only spotted 1 genesis sedan on the road. i've noticed a dip in the number of tiburons i see on the road too...hmmm...

 

i've seen a few coupes and sedans on the road, i drove a 2.0t and it was awesome and the interior was so comfortable, id put it way above the tC

 

Stock Vs. Stock yeah. But like Paul said the only thing i like about the car is its RWD, other than that its a New "Tiburon".

A Buddy of mine has the MR10 Evo and i personally think its butt, and its 40K.

 

its not the same motor as and evo. Its similar hyudai mitsubishi and another company paid to have a motor developed but they use different components. i read that somewhere

 

its the ralliart motor from the new ralliart turbo lancers.

 

It's not the EXACT same Engine.. similar though.

 

not the exact engine persay, its jus detuned and sideways lol.

lancer ralliart base hp is 237 while the genesis is 210

 

how's about that sportback ralliart lancer though, I kinda like it

 

I've got say this though, for once, I don't hate what Hyundai did with the design of both Genesis cars. I like the RWD setup but for drag racing, time will tell how long they hold up. I think it's a very nice "out of the box" car to own and daily drive. Performance wise, time is all we have.

what does that mean? evo's are 2.0's also

 

hell theres 1.6liter civic out there doing better then us 2.4 guys or even 2.0 civis
