So since scion puts superchargers on auto tC's...
...I guess it wouldnt hurt the transmission to put a turbo on it? What do you guys think? Can the auto tranny last at least 3 years under boost? (like around 8.5psi, ;-) )
How come other cars with auto tranny's have turbos and still work well (like a GTI MKV)
Thanks!

The stock tranny should be able to handle the supercharger in stock form for years just fine. The SC is only adding 30 something extra tq with the reflash ( on the manuals, not sure exact tq #'s on the auto SC but im sure its a few less). When you start talking about a turbo on a stock auto tranny no one knows yet. They've only been out for a few months now. Since turbos will naturally put down more tq it will shorten the life of the tranny for sure. If you run 5 psi on the current turbo's available for the auto's you should be fine for at least a couple years.
Once you start upping the boost or using larger turbos is where the auto tranny will probably start to show some problems. Follow some of the other threads where people are attempting to push 300 hp+lots of tq and see how long they'll last. No one knows for sure.

Well, how is anyone supposed to know "how long it will last" ? No one knows. And it depends on the driver, they type of boost, etc. For example, a turbo that comes in hard and quick is going to put more strain than one that comes in less aggressive. And it all comes back to how you drive it. This isnt a question anyone can really answer.

Yep, sciondad was running a zpi stage 0 on an auto. No issues that I know of tranny wise. But again, it all depends on how it is driven. You could run 10 psi and make it last forever if you granny it.
