it'll never hurt to upgrade your internals. If you want big power, you'll need to. if you have the means to build it now, do it!

you don't need to build your internals with the trd s/c or the greddy turbo unless you plan to run some big boost.

Here is my price list:
Stage 1 bushing with HKS SSQ: $3100
650cc RC Injectors: $300
AEM Wideband: $249.39
AEM Tru Boost: $246.88
AEM Oil Pressure: $168.40
Manifold heat coat: $100
Downpip heat coat: $75
Turbine Houseing heat coat: $35
shipping: $60

Install: $250
Oil Pan: $100
Greddy Sandwich Adapter: $50

Oil Return Bung: $12.50
Eneos Oil: $50
Oil Filter: $6
Install gauges and tighten kit: $200
Weld oil return bung: $85
Install F/IC and dynotuneing: $300

AEM F/IC: $414
AEM F/IC Harness: $310
NGK 2 step colder plugs: $35

ATI GaugePod: $95

That comes to $6242.17 so far, and I might have missed a couple things.
That is COMPLETE with install and tune.

The thing is, people have blown motors stock, it depends on how you drive and how you take care of your stuff. Yes, boosting increases the chance of damage, and getting a new motor will cost another $3-$4K, but that does not mean you need $10K to "burn" in order to boost. And if you'r not boosted and are just going to bash guys for going boost, why are you even posting in the FI forums?

Anyway, glowshift gaugses are crap. The cheapest good gauges you can get I think are the autometer CF or Cobalt series. Most people are using the AEM wideband eugo for AFR. Oh, and I have had absolutely 0 issues with my AEM Oil Pressure gauge.

Damn, you guys are spending alot more then I did.I spent:
$1,900 on kit
$150 for gauges and pod
$200 for wideband
$220 for emanage
$30 for emanage cable
$120 for oil,sealant,sandwich adapter,and new plugs
$150 for emanage pnp harness
$30 for miscellaneous other things such as sales tax, etc.

For a grand total of $2,800,for a reliable, installed, and tuned kit at 8 pounds. If you shop around, you can save alot of money.Spending 6 grand+ on a turbo kit is a little ridiculous, but that's just me.Even if I were to throw in a clutch and flywheel, that would still put me at $3,300 which is well under some of the other kits ALONE out there.

Short answer:because I rock

Long answer:Used kit with 3,000 miles on it,kit included oil lines and injectors.

Boost is great, but you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get it.Know what you are doing, know what you are getting yourself into, and know that there are always slight added expenses. It's really not that bad with a little know how and the will to learn new skills.

not everybody can find a used kit though. to be realistic with brand new prices it would be safe to set the bar at around 3500

which i didn't even come close to until i started buying misc stuff like wrenches and little t fittings and sealent and unexpected things.

Over the past month I have seen 4 used kits pop up on here,All for around 2 grand.Understood that not everyone can find used kits, but it should be noted that if you wait, shop around, and do your homework,it doesn't cost nearly what the original poster stated to boost.

But if you do the work yourself, and buy all the miscellaneous goodies, you're still well under 7 grand.

Hye, just remember that my $6K included tune and install. Without that, it would have come to a little over $4K. yes, more, but all brand new and the potential for 450whp. Plus a SICK looking EL Mani!

yup you could always get a custom kit a lot less, but most of the time your price goes high as your options gets better

Not neccissarily the whole proccess as a kit eliminates the annoyance of building everything like the ic pipes, the turbo and radiator fans, and extra random expenses

If i took the cost of the downpipe+manifold out of my custom kit it would be
Treadstone(32+custom downpipe(424)
El manifold
~1000

Same kinda. Sort of regret not getting the el manifold
