sweet, the unit looks great.

how difficult are these things gonna be to tune with? i could imagine it being hell trying to get someone to tune this thing. its bad enough as it is trying to find someone to properly tune a ame fic around here lol

It hasn't even been tested yet bro....lol. And I don't have a check engine light now, so obviously your not doing something right if you do.

Where was it mentioned that it was coming from people that made the tC's ecu?

I imagine it wont be that bad. It wont be quite as hard as a standalone as you won't have as many parameters to tune (probably, not sure lol) but at the same time you don't have to fight the ECU like you do with a piggyback.

I will post pics when I have it in my hands, which according to my second convo with them on Friday, should be here in 2 weeks or so.

And from a very good source at Toyota, this fella wrote code for them on their ECUs and worked for them for about 5-10 years, and now is doing this stuff. So it looks VERY promising.
page three =] and yea the CEL i meant like no cat CEL without having to use the antifouler

It says he wrote code for them on their ECU's. No mention of tC's ECU and there is a difference between writing code and actually designing/making the ECU. Far as we know, he could have wrote code for turning on the A/C.

I have No cat on my car FYI, and no Cel. $5 dollar Anti-fouler mod is not a hassle to do. But hey, I just figured you were getting ahead of yourself way to fast, so I commented on it. It's all good though.

Really? I mean, I'm interested in this as it is great for our community, but the only reason I'm NOT getting it is because my f/IC is doing GREAT for me. Perfectly tuned...not cats, not CEL, no anti-fouler trick...

...really, is this gonna be easier to tune then the f/ic...cause the f/ic is cake...

That just sounds like you have a horrible tune. If you had a bad tune with any unit you'd run into problems.

Yeah...remember 12.4 IS rich for a non-boosted car, which is what our ECU's are for. They just didn't do the 02 map for that. But the rest of it sounds like a bad tune which you could get no matter WHAT engine management you use.

I almost don't want to send you a map just so you get this new unit and we can all see how it is!

naw, but really, PM me your email address and I'll send you a couple other maps for you to try out...oh, and let me know what size injectors your running.

One more thing, did you do the resistor mod on your harness?

The unit's software and hardware where designed by two former ECU code writers for Toyota, whom have left the company since and started doing performance Toyota work.

To answer you further Mr. Smarty pants Travis, these gentleman where involved with writing the code for fuel, ignition and sensor feedback on the Toyota ECUs. They also had hands in writing the ECU reflash for the TRD S/C.

Well they had to do what Yota told them to do. When you're contracted for a deal like that, it is tough to say otherwise
