Well I am hoping to have some tuning time on this unit in the next couple of days, possibly Sunday even. I will post up results.

I will be able to e-tune it so long as you are connected to a wi-fi or internet connection

I do give it props on the wi-fi but I am a little concerned about security of said connection. Are encrypted passwords involved for map and setting changes? Can it accept connections for WEP and WPA/WPA2? what options do we have for wired tuning?

hey captain paranoid...the unit itself is not wifi...but your laptop connected to it would be.

all told as a previous person mentioned that would be good for base tunes...then i imagine you'd have to drive, datalog, talk to paul and re-up...ok for base tune but clumsy for refining. and don't even think about plugging in a 3g/edge card and strapping your laptop down...if i was paul i'd charge you by the hour for that nonsense.
it it was by laptop connected then that would be true of any unit, so it wouldn't necessarily be a feature of this unit. I work for a software company and have a degree in electrical engineering, so don't take me as an idiot.

sweet cant wait to see the out come.

if things go according to plan and you start selling these units, would you be supplying a base boost map with it?

Now would this be similar to what the Cobb Access port can do? Or will this be more like the F/IC where you really need an individual tune. The accessport you can pretty much download a map and it will run near perfect on every car. Is the "base map" really going to be reliable where you dont need a tuner?

Tough to say just yet. I created a map on my desktop to start with on this car, and depends on how it runs on the car, will be answer to that question
