Default Sound Performance kit (after turbo rebuild) video!

Had to get the turbo rebuilt, was running 8psi and switched to 12 psi spring at the time that I needed to rebuild the turbo and fix some cracks in the manifold and downpipe.

4 months later( f**k precision turbo), got the kit back on and running open wastegate.

Current setup:

stock block at 70k miles (boosted since 35,500)
sound performance kit with dual ball bearing 3431RE turbo
2.5" downpipe with 3" custom exhaust (made by http://www.tdcauto.com)
synapse BOV
running 12 psi (made 350whp in the below video today)

probably due to rings, it's got 70k miles so at this point I expect something to go. Probably ordering pistons/rods next week.

Catch can? Huh? When the car is on and you take the dipstick out and it smoke while the dipstick is out that means that you rings or pistons are done. What ate you talking about a catch can?

since the dipstick and the valve cover are usually under the same pressure from the crankcase, the oil catch can is getting the same amount of smoke as in taking out the dipstick. that's what i meant. currently, my catch can doesnt have sucktion on it and just vents to air, so it shows smoke from the crankcase.

Theres no real way to fix it other than replacing pistons with larger (89mm) and bore out to this side - cylinder walls will be too damaged to stay with 88.5mm - i know from experience I ran mine with f'd ring landings for like 6 months before doing a motor swap - just go easy on it and you can get by for awhile.

Also the blowby WILL make your turbo leak oil into the exhaust and compressor side - id recommend going back to n/a until its fixed - imho

how exactly can blow-by make your turbo leak oil?

death, i agree 100% about precision. My bro got a brand new turbo and it leaked oil, then got it rebuild under warranty and it still leaked oil. Its back at precision now for the 3rd time, the turbo is 2 weeks old, and they are saying they are sure they know what the problem is this time.....

Blowby causes the turbo to leak because it pressurizes the oil pan - oil backs up into the turbo and moves past the exhaust seal - the exhaust seal is much like a piston ring and isnt really and oil tight seal - it more or less keeps normally flowing oil from "accidentily" going into the exhaust housing but when oil backs up into the chra due to the oil pan being under positive pressure some oil makes its way out the exhaust seal - its usually not alot and its most noticeable at idle
