My brother was telling me about a guy on the srt-4 forum that tested out some new manifold with an external wastegate. Anyways he did a before and after dyno, the first dyno was with the wastegate open dumped and the second with it rooting back into the exhaust. Well the guy lost 38 horse with the wastegate going back into the exhaust. I know its not that much lost for us, but it gives you an idea on how much horse power you can loose. The srt-4 had 450+ horse he said.

^^Yeah, I knew it could be around 40whp differences depending on the application. Besides, I like sounding like a freight train when I open the wastegate....

would a tube just routing the gases lower make a difference since it's technically an open dump still and not routed to the downpipe?

I think the ebay special dump kit would be fine since it's still seperate from the downpipe, but will come out of the motor lower and not be quite as loud

Yes, it would make it quieter. Not sure on HP differences though.

Update,, I took the wastegate off the manifold and the turbo off as well. I also unbolted that clamp that holds the turbo to the exhaust housing. Now next week i'm bringing the manifold, exhaust housing, and the downpipe to my work to glass bead everything. I'll take some before and after pics and post them.

Welp i got a new update, I'm alset with this car and i'm getting rid of everything, turbo kit and all my other mods. I feel like i'm driving an old 80's car and i'm just fed up with it. The hood, radio cover, and hatch rattle that i hear over every little nuk and cranny on the road. Suks,, The worst thing i have to say about the car is the tranny and the fact that the dealer will not fix it. The constant 2nd gear crunch. Plus now i'm getting the crunch in 3rd gear.
The dealer says, " Are tech drove it and it shifts perfect" Yeah rite! Compared to what.. Ohh well, life goes on.. Anyways thats my little story.

^^Umm....That is about the most DRASTIC change I've ever seen when it comes to modding a car. Wow.

I accepted all my little squeaks and rattles before putting the turbo in. After I put the turbo in, I couldn't hear those annoying things because I was in boost all the time.....BHAHAAAA!!

It's not so much the rattles. Just mainly the tranny, and the fact the dealer will not stand by the warranty. Plus my rear bumper got hit 2 weeks ago and i need to get that fixed.
I dont know we'll see maybe its the holidays.
