Default Stft,ltft & timing.

How does stft & ltft work as far as idle and boosting? What are people stft & ltft? And what is people timing under boost? Just curious. And can you eliminate your maf sensor with the greddy ultimate? I'm asking these questions so I can know more in depth as to what is involved in tuning.

on a good tune fuel trims should be at 0.. meaning ur computer is not over correcting nothing.

and timing all depends.. if ur at 19 psi with water meth you should be pulling some were around 4-5 degrees

So I should be pulling 4 or 5 on top end? I think I'm pulling 2 or 3 only. And fuel trims should be at 0 both stft and ltft? Cool good to know. I think my partial throttle is alot cause I get a system rich cel on partial throttle and at idle sometimes. And my idles at low 15's

Not sure if you know what exactly the trims are for or not, but here is a quick and dirty description.

Short term trims - The ECU adds or pulls fuel to make the car run how it thinks it should. These fluctuate fairly quickly to maintain what the ECU believes to be the optimal air/fuel mixture.

Long term trims - If the short term trims are consistantly high or low, the long term trim will begin to move towards that number.

For example, if the LTFT is 0 and the STFT is at 25 for a while, eventually, the LTFT will start moving up towards 25. That way, the STFT will make smaller changes, but still be providing the car with the amount of fuel the ECU wants to see.

An important thing to note, though, is that I always say what the ECU believes is correct. The ECU wants the car to run at stoich (AFR of around 14.7). If are running boost, that is too lean and you want to add fuel. This is where the battle comes in with the cars ECU versus a piggyback. Crazy fuel trims will cause your car to throw error codes even though you are running close to stoich. A good tune should have the STFT and LTFT's pretty close to 0.

He may be tuning ur car to let ur oem computer do alot of fuel adjusments i dunno w.o seeing ur map!

if ur only pulling 2-3 u should be making great power.. but i hope u tuned it that aggressive on a dyno..

How to remove AFM;

This is a simple operation that requires the optional greddy pressure sensor to be plugged into either of the inputs on the front of the emanage (yellow plugs).
  1. open data sampler map (far right toolbar icon)
  2. turn data sampler ON (click on/off icon)
  3. select airflow voltage and log its voltages (you will need to select greddy pressure sensor in the IGN and INJ too )
  4. drive vehicle and populate as much of the sample screen as possible (safest to do on dyno or track) but road is fine if you have enough demerit points
  5. cut and past this populated data into the AIRFLOW OUTPUT map.
  6. done

data sampling map

finished map
