Why not pick a more feature intensive management system for your build rather than an F/IC?

I agree with Travis here on this one. The only exception for an answer would be NYS inspection.

I could be wrong, but I believe part of the object here was a budget oriented build. $ for $ the FIC is really hard to beat imho. Not everyone has the unlimited budget that many of you seem to have. For instance Ill be doing my motor build and 5 spd swap soon and I plan on sticking with my FIC. Yea, if I had the budget Id go with the AEM EMS or maybe the new ProEFI, but for me spending an extra $1000-1200 on a new ems isnt something I want to do, and Im asusming hes feeling the same way - i see no problem getting to 350whp safely on the FIC.

Im not going to run AEM EMS or the Hydra - Exactly too expensive for this build...I plan on running the Ultimate next summer with my built head.

TBH I cant see a scenario where you would need to advance ign timing past stock running 14 psi? There are def benefits of raising redline but only if you build the head, and same goes for the speed limiter - only real need to remove it is if you are raising redline as its almost to redline in fifth already. As for 2 step - get a wotbox - gets your wot shifting and 2step for $160. traction control? Who needs that anyways

You don't need a built head to get benefits out of an increased redline. And speed limiter removal is a seperate benefit and is not associated with the increase in rpms. With the factory redlne in place, and just speed cut removed, the car is good for 140-145mph. With an increase in rpms, your clocking sub 160mph then. When approaching speed cut with everything stock, 127mph is hit right around 5700-5800rpm (factory redline is 6250 in the 1st gen, and 6500 in the 2nd gen).

Why have two modules acting independent of each other than one management solution to take care of all that? Makes no sense.

FI/C is for making sure there are no hickups on the way to the grocery store.

Ultimate is for making sure you are not staring at the other guys tail lights.

Im hoping to make 400whp at 14psi with the intake manifold and all. Is it really even beneficial to make more than 400whp considering its FWD? I mean its got to be alraedy hard to put the power to the ground efficiently.

if you use slicks aren't you more prone to breaking something like the axles because they grip so good?

depends on a few different things.

1. how much power you are making

2. what rpm are you launching at

3. how much psi you are running in your tires
