You may not of notice it yet.. But in time it would have failed. Ive pulled other motors out to see cracked ringlands with no issues.
Hell the car even put down 275 to the wheels (b16a2) ran fine.. we pulled it part to sleeve the block and seen that and were like wtf!

So yesterday Itook apart the block and pretty much threw the rods/pistons in my back seat on the floor (winter car)....went to bring them in the garage today and noticed ALL 4 ringlands cracked.....all on the same side on the piston. Now one could blame on running 6psi with no tune, hard driving. Any way over reving could cause this? (ex. Dropping from 4th to 2nd gear on accident) Or is it just coincidence that they are all cracked on the same side from rolling around on the floor of my car for a day? PS There was no scoring of the cylinder walls.
What I am getting at here is that when you boost a NA engine with stock internals you are applying more heat. More power = more heat in the engine. These parts expand more than they were designed to and as a result you get increased wear on the thrust side of the piston. Ring gaps butt together, ring lands expand due to the increased heat and when the conditions for detonation are correct the resulting force of detonation will be transferred through the piston and crack the ring land. Usually on the thrust side as that is the one being forced down.
If you are lucky they stay in their place you just lose a little compression and may experience some smoke. If you are not lucky then pieces come loose and rattle and get pounded around inside that cylinder and damage the combustion chamber, most times after that the head is useless because even if you clean up the damage if there are areas that are pitted they tend to act as stress risers and lead to cracks or detonation from hot spots in the chamber disrupting the proper propagation of the flame front during combustion.
Scoring you would want to worry about would be anything you can catch a finger nail on. Most scoring like that will come out with a good hone. If after a hone it's still there then you will need to bore the cylinder and then re-hone.

Thanks Don...Deff some good info there....I dont feel ANYHTING when I rub the cylinder walls so there is deff no scoring...and you can still clearly see the original cross hatch...I purchased a 05 block from Dezod West a while ago with the help of Paul that I was going to use but decided against it. Any differences in using apposed to not using the coolant flow plastic piece????

I always forget push is puching the air out and pull is pulling the air from outside in? Wouldnt it be bad to put a shroud on the outside of the radiator how the fans are mounted now due to the fact that when in motion not much air would be going thru the rad?

Yea I dont think the kind I have can be reversed...so I have to take the fans off the rad now and unbolt the fan and reverse the direction........so that mean I have to buy 2 more sets of mouting kits....
