You cant blame eBay for faulty installations

Who said anything about a faulty installation Faulty installs usually show up immediately after start up, not a few months later. He was racing the car against a good number of people before reaching failure.

So which ebay part failed and caused the fire?

What I look like....CSI Miami? LOL...heck if I know man. All I know is, I was at home and he called me and said he was on the side of the interstate with his car on fire, and then proceeded to send me pics of the carnage as it was unfolding. We lost one of my protege's that day.

That doesn't look like an ebay problem. What it looks like was a poor wiring job and sparked an electrical fire. An ebay wastegate or turbo will not cause a fire.

Maybe he had an ebay technician.. ?

Maybe he got his wires off of Ebay too... The whole idea though is that it's the sum of his Ebay experience.

eBay technician lololol thats great! I think half the problem is the MAJORITY of people who buy the "eBay" parts are on a budget. And usually dont have much experience. Items are usually installed incorrectly. Either way, not here to arguee really, just to see what happens and to prove the results one way or antoher.

Ive seen alot of ebay turbos..

Some work! Some dont!

I had some friends who were just like OP and didint care they just bought ebay.. Besides wastegates that kept failing and bovs that leaked.. turbos seemed to be ehh "OK" The one time i seen something bad happen was a fellow tc'er. zpi stage 0 the wheel broke apart got sucked into tb! luckly the tc has a screen behind the tb! but it did get stuck and caused tb to stick open!

All in all. its hit or miss! Its your car!

No way in Hell you beat them. Were they just cruising and you raced buy like a ricer and said you beat them?

With your setup, 6psi UNTUNED and on STOCK injectors, I am sure you are knocking (may not hear it) and may be making 200-210 at the wheels. A stock GTO makes 355 - 370's to the wheels I believe. I am sorry man, but people would have to be retarded to believe this. Of course your buddy will vouch for you, he is your well... your buddy. That doesn't mean anything. That's like me saying, yeah I am stock but I beat a viper, ask my buddy, he was there. I am sure it will be said, but vids or it never happened.

Good luck with your build, but I don't see you making it to 14.5 psi. I see it failing soon.

Not choosing sides here but back in 1988 I smoked a Ferrari Testarossa from 0-100 with a stock 87 Mustang GT. I'm sure he blew a shift but a win is a win...
