My piston rings cost as much as your pistons. That does not scare you?

Yea that doesn't make much since Why build the motor and use stock pistons? The ring landings are known to fail over time in even moderately high boost applications. Im a budget builder like yourself - but dont sacrifice too much at the expense of quality - i would stick with a piston that has had a good track record but at the same time wont break the bank - right now that would be the wiseco. There WAS a time when mahle was doing a factory clearance and selling their 9:1 pistons for like $350 - but i dont think youll find them around anymore - and they only came in the stock 88.5 bore

I like the $250 "lsd". Let me know how that works out for you. I've yet to read a positive review on them.

How can you take a $250 dollar "LSD" seriously. Oh wait you must mean the drug that was so popular back in the 60ties right?

alot of guys around here are fine with it. my car isnt daily driven only on the weekends (i have a work truck). my car gets driven hard im on boost more then not. it will just bind up the inner tire when turning might let outt some squeels from the different turning radius. 100% spin from both wheels is awesome my friend morgan has had his tranny welded for some time, now time to do mine i will let you guys know how it turns out

so for a daily driver w/ 400+ wtq/hp what would be the concern or disadvantages of just doing a weld job opposed to actually getting a quaife or os giken?

well in a straight line neither of them will give you the traction welding it will

the down when you turn at a short radius the inner tire will slip just like a spool in a muscle car will do instant engagement is awesome and lets say its the cheapest route just go to town with welding

the car i have driven thats fwd that has a welded diff is a 550hp k24 96 civic si with a 60-1 and taking corners it hooks and goes the traction is unrivaled

when u turn a short radius the inner tire will slip? what do u mean? so basically welding it is cheaper and more effective than buying an LSD?
