I didn't even like my OE clutch even though I'm stock! (It doesn't engage fast and likes to slip uphill sometimes...)

So, I'm the only stock tC with a Stage-4 clutch... (and I like how it bites the stock flywheel like hell!)

Clutch upgrades are one of the best upgrades you could do!

How do YOU know you are the only stock tC with a Stage 4 clutch? Hmm? You always get your stastitcs wrong. How do you know if I don`t have my Stage 4 clutch installed already? I have not installed the turbo yet tho, so I am stock performance wise (besides the Magnaflow catback exhaust system)

Depending on what brand stage 4 you are talking about ...there pretty much is NO reason to have a stage4 anything with the tc. Stage 3 handles 350trq and feels stock - the harder clutch you have the more stress you put on the trans when it grabs so hard

so based on this information, if one were modding a s/c and wanted to replace their clutch... they wouldnt need to go above a stage1 clutch for the most part correct? if people with a stock clutch and 9.5psi pulley arent getting any slip. for example the competition clutch stage1 states 40% over stock. this should hold just fine correct?

im j/k, im sure most of you knew that, I just figured id point it out though cause I keep seeing everyone throw out whp numbers and not tq

LOL...good point. I knew that. Just FYI also while we are talking about that, keep in mind also that the clutch ratings are for flywheel HP, not tQ at the Wheels.

for clutchmaster stage1 with the s/c and 9.5lb you do not need more ...but if it feels like stock and grabs nice ...why not go to the stage3 so if u want to beat it up ...u can. U dont wanna change your clutch again cause u didnt put the right clutch on the first time

^ jeze - i have no clue. The clutchmaster stage 3 is like an act stage1 - the competition stage4 i think is a full blown racing clutch right? If it is ..... yea its going to be hard ..... hence the "racing clutch" name.

I have 10,000 boosted miles with 375whp + 30 1\4 mile runs at 105 trap on my stock clutch. So far so good and I have not smelled my clutch since being boosted. Maybe don't ride your clutch so much? Let the engine do it's job!

If you have a after market clutch by definition you are no longer stock. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think BHP means Base Horsepower meaning at the crank and WHP means Wheel Horsepower meaning at the wheels. I could have 300BHP and 275WHP as we lose HP in transition from the crank to the wheels.

Thus the prefix "brake" refers to where the power is measured: at the engine's output shaft, as on an engine dynamometer. The actual horsepower delivered to the driving wheels is less. An engine would have to be retested to obtain a rating in another system. The term "brake" refers to the original use of a band brake to measure torque during the test (which is multiplied by the engine RPM and a scaling constant to give horsepower).
