Default stock ECU capabilities

so i heard that our ECUs can adjust for boost. Is it true and if so how much boost will be safe? I plan on only 4 pounds until i get a Piggy-back or Standalone. But since im back in school i dont have the fund to get the ECU yet. I know my way around cars but when it comes to tuning and doing maps, I'm a noob.

Thanks in advance for the help...

you can run around 5psi safely but its not the greatest idea. Ive been running on .4bar untuned for nearly a year and no problems. Its not a good idea at all tho. The only reason Ive gone so long untune is because a shop screwed me over
