Default Stock exhaust with boost

I'll be purchasing a TT turbo kit here sometime in the next month or two and was wondering how much hp will be held back if I used the stock exhaust on the tC. I'm not much a fan of loud exhausts and I'd to keep my ear drums when I'm driving long distances on the highway. I plan on purchasing an exhaust later on when I have the money, but as of now I'll be running on the stock exhaust. Will this have any huge negative effects?

I'm planning on getting a TT Stage 1 V2.1 and run it about 8lbs with an Emanage. I'm hoping that will get be around the 260hp range with a stock exhaust.

I thought a quality (magnaflow) muffler cost around 200 bucks alone? I figured a custom exhaust would cost more than 300 dollars if done properly.

i would say go with the elcectonic cut off also cause you can maintain the stock sound and look, but when u want too push it u just flip a switch

They're expensive. But worth it if you want to retain factory sound.

You will have to get an exhaust shop to modify your stock piping to fit the 2.5" cutout.

Electronic cutout is what i'm going to do... just make sure you get tuned with it open and then you can close it while driving on the street.

I figured it will be cheaper then any exhaust and gives u the same purpose as an open dump , only better cuz you can control it .
Older models are known to leak a little , but the new ones i heard are better.

I'm liking the concept of the electronic cutout valve, but where exact on the exhaust would you install it? I believe TT provides an Spipe with their kit so i'm going to assume it would be somewhere on the straight pipe. I would assume that you would have to cut out the cat in order to weld the valve into place. Where is it mainly put?

Keep the cat if you want to sound like stock. Taking the cat out will make the exhaust much louder.

you can put it anywhere you want.
you should put it before the cat, and run a straight pipe to the side of your car from the cutout, that way when u got it open you can shoot flames.

What is first round chamber after the s-pipe? Is that a cat or resonator? I think to work at its best potential, I would have to have it as soon as I could after the s-pipe without any restrictions.

well heres an example....
im double catted with a random technologies downpipe and the arc N1 catback, retaining the OEM second cat. for emissions purposes really.

i just recently dyno'd my dezod S1 kit, i made 281 with that exhaust setup. however running dummy pipes without cats, i made just over 300. all on 8psi.

i'd have the stock exhaust and the bypass exhaust but extend the bypass exhaust over to the drivers side or something so that it can go straight out sorta like a screamer ahhah

i dunno, just throwing it out there.
