$2800 is actual dealer price in the unit Must be a pretty darn good dealer! And the installed price is not to shabby.

Yeah I got my s/c installed at ScionBandits dealership. Since mine was the first s/c they installed, they charged me 600 flat. But after it took them ALOT longer than they originally anticipated, they told me "you lucked out buddy, we are not doin it for that cheap anymore"

For install, the same thing happend to me. They Quoted me 8 hours install at $85 and hour. It took them 14 hours. They said since they quoted me 8 hours, I only had to pay 8 hours.

Too bad all dealerships don't charge the same. Kearny Mesa Scion in San Diego told me it'd be $3,700 installed.

Yes, there is a standard amount of hours you get charged, regardless of the mechanics ability to do the work in that time. If they can install it properly in 6 hours, they still get paid for 8. If they are not sure, this is new for them, and take their time then that is for their benefit of doing a proper job, you do not get penalized.

its really dealers choice as far as pricing
but it would benefit dealers to be as close to wut is the best pricing out there
and labor wise, they shouldn't charge a butt load for it either......

Yeah they explained ot me beforehand, that they didnt know how long it would take. They said 8 hours. If it was less I would get charged less, if it was more then still 8 hours. It took them like 14 hours but they charged me less than 8 hours for the onconvienence and due to the fact I think I have been a good customer for them. I am real happy with service there.

LOL. I asked my dealer about labor for the SC install. They told me $140/hr!

So I told him I'd find a dealer that would do it for cheaper. He says "All California dealers charge the same for labor." I call B.S. What are other Cali people paying for SC install labor?

Thats BS. they go by a book of how long it is supposed to take to do a selected task. If they have incomps working and can't get it done in that time that's thier fault.

8 hours is plenty of time to install a straight bolt on supercharger.

heck the turbonetics turbo kit with large injectors. Inercooler + piping, and the turbo manifold only takes a 6 hour install for people who know what they are doing.

Nothing is saying a dealer has to install the s/c to retain warrenty. A toyota certified mechanic installing the s/c would still retain the warrenty. And where I am I know one that charges 55 an hour.

My local toyota is $85 an hour. They charge hourly, not by task.

The funny thing is, I bought my car from from the dealership ScionBandit used to work at. They originally quoted me for 3 days. 3 FREAKIN DAYS!!!!!! It came out to like over $2,000. I couldn't help but laugh out loud over the phone. I told them to get a freakin clue. So I took it to the dealership that SCionBandit works at now and got it there for $600 flat.. They are MUCH better in service.

Diehl Toyota in York PA charges $400 flat for install. You bring in a brand new supercharger from any mom and pop shop, they install for $400.
