Also, what's the deal with the check engine light (CEL) coming on with using the Alphawerks header...did yours come on/stay on? Is it something you just, got used to, if so?

BOXCAR...What's a wideband 02 and what's it do?

Let me apologize now if I'm being a neusance, but I'm really curious about all of this. Thanks again for all the help.

lol yeah any header with an aftermarket exhaust will make it much louder..however i found that the sp2 didnt get THAT much louder. but i tried the TRD and took it off the exhaust after 2 days...its jus asking for a ticket and sounds like ur running without a muffler! its jus that loud lol.

and with any after market header, u'll get a CEL. there are cheap "fixes' for it. the MMW offer;s there little CEL fixer thing when u buy there header i believe. what i, along with many others did, was to buy some washers and drill it so that they are big enough to fit the O2 sensor. it'll jus move hte sensor an inch or two back from where it would normally be. fixed my CEL.

and yeh i plan on getting the wideband in the future..those things are expensive! lol. i think if gives you more data to work with when tuning and monitors ur a/f ratio in real time.

A wideband )2 read your A/F ratio in real time and allows you to see if things are going wrong. Ie too lean/too rich on the fuel side. This comes in very handy as you start to modify a F/I vehicle.

interesting...

I'm honestly surprised that the change from your initial stock header to a aftermarket makes such a HUGE difference in exhaust resonance!

I'm afraid I don't know enough to take full advantage of using a wideband 02 yet. May be a little over my head, and I think I'm worried about potentially damaging my car, or worsening my HP situation if I go for something I don't fully understand.

Looks like I need to do a little more homework.

hey BOXMAN...I was looking at your profile info on your black tC and was wondering how your car sounds with that DC sports header. Do you have an exhaust tip to muffle the loudness?

I'd really like to persue in the header direction...

It's very likely that you're leaning out with that CAI.

Wideband Air/fuel sensor. This will tell you if you're leaning out or running rich.

It gets great mileage since it's not using too much fuel to cool the cylinder. I would still be cautious.

Feels great yes, but you can't feel what damage it could be doing to your engine.

Why is it everyone always thinks the Tc is running lean. I see more Tc's running rich than anything.
