ok lots more updates with no real logic...

so we tried this whole exhaust theory and dynod it open exhaust, and just stock and here are the results...

stock (a few days ago) - 174whp
stock w/ open filter and exhaust - 185 whp.

boost readings on stock pulley never passed 5ish psii. these readings only showed up o the dyno. for some reason, my gauge read a perfect 7. this makes no sense to me, along with the dyno numbers in general. so basically...

1) its not the intake.
2) its not the exhaust.
3) not the injectors or spark plugs
4) not the engine
5) not blowby

the boost leak is once again a possibility, which can lead to 2 or 3 different things to test.

1) the bypass valve
2) belt slippage
3) other unnoticed leak somewhere

assuming the power is at 174 at 5psi, it would be at the "Target 19Xwhp most other people get on the stock setup.

oh and the dealer has been pretty useless in the matter. they dont know what "proactive" means in solving problems. oil consumption is still present.

well...if you wanna take it back to the dealer, you can say that it is never reaching full psi on the stock pully and have them test that...I mean, all they have to go on right now is you saying that it's not makeing as much power as it should, right? also, you could take it to Desert Scion instead of Findlay scion.

I think that just because you've been saying this whole time that it can't be the bypass valve, it's gonna be the bpv. :D

i did call about a boost issue and they said if it was my fault becasue of installation, id have to pay all the hours spent checking into it. so i said no. hah..

NO. i swear ill make this work.

IT WILL WORK. AND IT WILL BE COOL.

in all hoenstly i drove a few turbo cars lately and i didnt like the fact that it had to spool up. i mean im not new to how a turbo works but im a fan of quick engine response and i always get it with the s/c just by nature. not as powerful of course but also it'll save me some trouble of upgrading the clutch as well. along with getting a tune. thats time and money i dont really have right now to do something i dont like.

Oh don't try to tell him that it won't work. He's stubborn. :D

And once he gets it all working properly, he's not gonna shut up about it. ;] In this case, I think it's justifiable, though, as you've been to hell and back with this thing...

ill seriously consider switching to a turbo if a turbo tc beats me at an autocross :D thats my primary racing hobby! its the most technical and pretty challenging, and your car needs more balance over power. this is why im s/c stubborn. if i did more actual track racing, which i do want to get into, im sure id prefer the turbo... the power would count for a lot more.

i suppose that's where you know jaime and christian too?

lol.

if you get a 16 g turbo it would boost right off hte line man, there are different applications for differnet things, just ask and you wil recieve.

air moves faster in smaller setups getting compressed faster and blowing out at higher rates....if the supercharger is giving you this much trouble you should take into consideration a smaller but more efficiant turbo setup

Bwahah.... so if I beat you in autocross with a turbo tC... My goal IS to beat you, remember? ;]

Ew, but a turbo might not help me with that... D:

before i got the s/c, i messaged dezod about getting their stage 1 kit with a small turbo. it wa sthe same price obviously, but ya know... its those extra costs again. clutch. tuning. gauges. thats a lot of money on top of what the kit costs, when ive spent under 1900 on my s/c kit that will suit my needs assuming it EVER works right. and maybe another few hundred on other little things here and there to enhance it.

but anyway yes i know jaimie and christian. i intro'd them to autox. i love autox. just not lately with the garbage they call locations to race.

and if you do beat me, then ill just sell my car and get another one ;]

dude, i'ld help you build a turbo kit. ahha

you already have some of the gauges right?

unless you're pushing more than 300 hp like me or phil no need for new clutch

street tune is always availibable.

i dunno =P if you're spending a couple hundred for tuning, meth and whatnot you're gonna creep up on hte price i spent for my turbo.

keep your sc, if it wasn't so hard to upgrade and so easy to break i would have gotten it to haha =)

ideally, i would have picked up a small turbo setup... but yeah, my school costs 30k a year. spending 2k+ on a performance part was a REAL stretch for me haha... but im a car guy, i had to get something. i was bored.

i appreciate the help :]

i have no gauges. not planning on any meth injection either. im not really power hungry. my whole mission was to have a well balanced car, and i went into it knowing that i can only change xyz things with the s/c. quite alright with me. for 2k, it was a "230whp" project. of course... ive spent more than that. lets see...

1850 s/c kit.
120 for a catch can
110 for krank vents that i havent installed yet
30-40 for vacuum lines and lines for the catch can
40 for vacuum block
500 for FIC+harness that has not been tuned
35 for the bosch110 bpv
OH YEAH and dynoing 3x @ 50/session = 150.

...2923? total.

damn. well, that FIC might be sold again, depending on if i really need it or not. i bought it on the basis that it would run badly and would need a tune.

you dont think you'd need a new clutch? i mean... stock one is rated for 16X torque. add 120 torque to that real early like you turbo guys... i think that's just askin to kill it haha. but ive never had any personal experience with clutch replacement or wear so i dont really know.
