on a stock tc, the pcv is in constant vacuum, but now in your FI tC, the pcv is under boost alot of the time, so it has trouble venting properly... you need to move the outlet to a source of constant vaccuum...

but the main problem is the boost isnt alowing the blow-by to fully escape from the pcv

For informations sake: what happens when blow-by isn't properly ventilated? Can sludge build-up contaminate the fuel?

there are many documented poorly installed s/c's..but destroyed motors? how many do you count of those?
i think you are making a huge leap here.

this is most likely why when some have capped the nipple on the intake mani and routed the PCV out to vaccum they got a little more oomph...not because pcv vapor couldn't get out before the cap off, but because boost was pushing in.
so a PCV for boosted applications would be in order..and a better vac solution for the breather. air will take the path of least resistance.
at the end of the day, the catch can is just a bandaid to the blow-by problem

I've been through two motors myself and destroyed a couple cats, which from what I understand is caused by a lean condition...hence the question, can blow-by cause sludge build-up, contaminate your fuel, lower your octane, cause detonation, destroy a cat...etc. etc.
There hasn't been many but it has happened. Look at Equinox. Where does the oil go that seems to disappear? I am just looking for an explanation.
Once again I've been through two motors both of which were missing 45 psi in hole #3. How do you lean out a motor with the "safe" TRD map? I'm not trying to argue I am just dying to know. Is there a difference in the dynamic between a turbo and supercharger when it comes to blow-by?
These threads led to such assumtions:

hate to resurrect a thread but i need to install a catch can as well.
my cat just died. (that sounds sad)
but yeah, its getting replaced now. and a quart of oil magically disappeared. ive only been s/c for about a month. 3000 miles-ish.
helpful info guys!
