supercharger vs. turbo

i would say the big difference is one is legal(supercharger) and the other is not(turbo). since u live in cali that should be one of your major factors since cali cops are not very forgiving.
supercharger: pros: cheaper and legal, cons: i know they had problems just not sure with what
turbo: pros: more power and i think more cost effective, cons: not legal and a must to have etra cash for problems that may occur
i am no expert so hope others chime in. i live in cali and have had a turbo on my tc for about 8 months now. my opinion if u dont draw attention to urself cops wont bother you for the most part. gl on ur decision

here it goes....
right now i have a turbo. im really tired of worrying about being pulled over, for something stupid that would result of it having to be pulled off. the troubles you run into with a turbo are countless. i also have a extended warranty and maintenance plan, and i dont want a dealership touching my car until i have the turbo off.
so, pros-fast? cons- worrying about popo's
thats why im selling the kit and going supercharged. i think overall it gives you the power you want when you push it, and if anything goes wrong, haha toyota. i dont have to worry about going into boost, and since im changing my exhaust, i dont have to worry about a modified exhaust ticket. AND i can take the front plate off and retint the front windows cause i wont have to worry as much
so, pros-fairly priced, already tuned, can use my extended warranty and maintenance plan, and dont have to worry about popo's. cons-can have problems, but can be replaced by toyota.

After reading all the comments posted so far, I think s/c is the way to go. The only problem is that it's so flippen expensive......oh well I just want that extra push, and its not bad for looks and upgrade as well as the 110 freeway entrances at the avenues, if you drove it you know what im talking about. You know Im not looking to blow through any races so this might be a good pick

i want a turbo soooo bad, but as everyone stated: turboing with a budget is a no go.... you will need a lot of money on the side to spend it on the turbo and the engine if something goes wrong. well.. i cant afford that. Plus i have an 05 Tc.. so the S/C is only 2 grand... plus install+ s pipe+ nst 9.5 lbs s/c pulley + some nice bov.. its under 3 grand and i got header and exhaust already.. so i could push 230ish hp.. which is a lot compared to 160... and my scion is kinda "fast" already

the 110. def. need more power for that. and the s/c is expensive? expect 4k on a turbo, and most likely much more. 4k is for a turbo toyotas SIMPLE kit and emanage and injectors. not including install, tune, and money for problems that might occur.

The supercharger allows you to keep your warranty and its much simpler. I installed mine myself and saved that much money on it so i ended up spending $1900 total and i get one year of warranty. You don't have to worry about a tune cause its included and a few extra mods will net you big gains.
I've got 9.5psi pulley, short ram, atmospheric bov, catback and energy engine mounts. Car is really fast and all that I ever wanted I think it was a great deal for the money. If you get bored easily though you will keep wanting more power and thats where a turbo has the advantage.
