Why yes, yes they are. Fun to put in as well. But they look nice and clean.. just a little advice though. do not use the original screws, switch them out to some really nice ones. I had to replace them cause they rusted.

I have a full build long block. But I'm deciding to go with another one with a different setup for the head. Full fresh new motor to go with the kit and a custom new fuel setup.. I'm ready maybe this summer maybe not.. I'm in no rush.. but i do miss being planted in my seat for the 4 gears.

Any problems installing them? I read a few years ago about someone who tried to install them and something about radiator somehow interfered with the placement of the pins.

it a bit of modifying. but i made a full custom radiator support for the fitment of the turbo setup with the mishimoto rad.. i have no a/c condensor and want to pull the radiator further away from the turbo. just want extra room. so i was able to put just about any type of hood pins i decided to go with. i just really like the aerocatch setup.

In order to keep that motor alive you would need to destroke it.

Another case of a guy who got an ase, had a good job, has some money.. And thinks he knows it all ..

Yawn.. waits for post were his pistons came out the side of the block..

Sick manifold though

Well that's quite the arrogant post.

I have seen Dave's car first hand. It's the cleanest and most well put together tC of anyone on this board.

So Your saying the 2az with stock bore and stroke is fine at 9k? ALSO were did i say his car wasint clean.. Im sure it is..

Just making a post saying he is going to rev to 9k. Because he has a built head is arrogant!

Now if he plans on destroking the motor. building head and then revving to 9k. By all means im very sorry for the post. And probably one of the sickest builds on SL.

No where did I say that.

However, I am talking about your comments to Dave.

Your arrogance and inexperience speak nothing to or about what Dave or anyone else knows. If you want to talk about people who think they know everything, you should look in the mirror.

You felt inclined to pick up a lap top and start playing around, good for you. If you are so smart where are your certifications, you know, industry standards that state you have a competency in the subject you are trying to talk about?

“It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”

For the record. You can rev a 2.4 2AZ-FE engine that high, will it last forever, of course not. Does that mean it cannot be done? No. They have a better rod to stroke ratio than the Mitsubishi 2.4L which people rev that high on a regular basis.

I quoted this for truth..

Just because u happen to know this guy doesnt mean he can come on here saying hes going to rev a stock block to 9k. This is an open forum.

Now some guy on here thinks he can rev to 9k goes out side changes some setting in his ems. Blow motor..

This is the internet and those things happen.

Think what you want. I wasint questioning you. Just stating the fact. Im not going to argue with you via this guys post.

I dont come on here and discredit you, but you feel the need to discredit me to make a point..

My point. This motor "should not" rev to 9k with out changing some things.
Sorry if it came out harsh.

I guess, it hits a nerve when i hear kids that goto uti always at the track saying there going to do things to this nature.

Sure I can understand your frustration.

I will vouch for the quality of Dave's work and his knowledge. He is not dumb.

I'm not trying to discredit you I'm merely saying it sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Just didn't think it was very nice of you to put someone down without knowing who or what (his setup) you are talking about. I also think he mentioned he had a built engine with head, and another one. No where do I recall reading anything about stock engine.

But whatever.
