Default A/T Transmission scion tc, with boost?

Whats the max HP I can put an A/T tC? I mean, for the A/T Owners out there, I am deciding on what brand of boost to get, and what other possible mods.

to be honest, imo its not worth it but from what ive seen 250 whp is the highest on the safe side and thats even pushing it!

but if u r serious about it, u can rebuild the tranny through IPT which cost about $3250.
that can set to ur goal of 300whp!

minus well do a man tranny swap... basically if you boost an auto, be prepped to drop 2g's for a new trans within a year or two

No bottom line is if you want boost you pretty much need a 5 speed, and even with a 5 speed if you were looking for 250 whp, you still probably need at least a Stage 1 clutch. You will most definitely blow your auto tranny if you get that high

You're better off going turbo if you wanna reach 250, especially on an auto. But, as said above you need to put money into the trans if you want it to hold 250whp.

250 is about the limit for a stock a/t. You can build the trans but it cost almost as much as a manual swap

ok im going to try to answer a few ???

250whp with an auto and a supercharger is extremely hard to do....extremely hard!

soflotc is now manual because his built auto had to many issues

yes you can upgrade an auto trans but its almost not worth it the cost is more than a tranny swap, your going to have to build your motor to hit the goals you want (we all know autos have more power loss). by the time you build the motor, trans and turbo kit, your over 10g's!!!

i know soflo had ALOT of problems with his built tranny - multiple failures on the tranny when he got it back from levelten - youd have to ask him the specifics on it. As for the auto on boost - it comes down to what you really want - do you want a track monster? in that case swap for a 5 spd, i dont even think the built auto would be too great - its just doesnt have great gearing and its a 4 spd - but hey i have an auto and ill never swap for a five speed - i can drive a 5 spd just fine but for daily driving id perfer not to have to - i just do way too much driving - lets see i just dropped the new motor in the tc back at the middle of feb and i have 3200 mi on it already lol. I had my auto boosted for almost 6 months at 7 psi with no tranny issues. Did have plenty of motor issues but that was due to a problem with fic wiring causing one of my injectors to short and lean out that cylinder - admittedly - this was my fault - i wired the injector wires in pairs using heat shrink and apparently i burnt through the inner heat shrink while melting the outer on the two for injector one - i found it later after i found that injector was randomly going to 0% idc but it was too late - ring landings in that cylinder were done for But as for the tranny - i have a feeling you could get up to about the 250whp mark with a nice tranny cooler and some nice synthetic atf that does better under high heat (i use the royal purple) it more than likely will still be a slug shifting at high load (w0t) but this can be improved greatly with a modified valve body from IPT. Once im boosted again (very sooooon!) i plan on doing the ipt valve body also and i already have a MASSIVe tranny cooler and use royal purple atf. So boosting the auto can be a ton of fun just dont expect it to be FAST, quick should be your goal - trust me its sooo much fun - if you want the convience of auto but decently quick its worth it . My goal is to get to the 13.95-14.00 mark with just modified valve body WIsh me luck And most of all - ignore all the naysayers on here

Sorry for the novel just wanted to give my personal experience and opinion

Then i just get new exhaust , intake system and maybe headers because it's too much headache to supercharge or turbo a/t .

dont s/c - not worth but omg turbo is worth it manGgggG! lol ok i best calm down but seriousely - its a VERY decent power gain - turning a 16.xx car with i/h/e into a 14.xx car with turbo is still a big diff Since it is an auto im working to try to optimize the power curve on mine rather than just going for peak power - thinking about running a garret t3 super 60 itd almost make it like having a quick n/a car with full boost before 3k lol

S/C is a waste of money... and they have a load of problems...and they also have been discontinued..

if u decide to go boost...and u want a good kit, Id say Dezod S1, since it comes with everything u need... or you could buy a used one =) thats a really good option

If you wanna keep it a auto just leave the boost at 7 or 8PSI Max. You'll get a nice power boost and it'll make the car more exciting. Sure you wont own the road but I didnt care I just enjoyed hearing my car spool
