Default tC: Thinking about going Turbo but wanted opinions

So yeah like the Post said im thinking about going down the Turbo route. Only issue is......car is Auto. I have mixed reviews saying auto can go turbo just fine IF your looking to go above 300 HP.
I don't want to change to a Stick since i have an RS1. Thought about doing a tranny swap but dont know if its worth it.

But I digress, cars a daily driver in Sunny/Hot/Humid and alot of times rainy conditions. I wanted to get opinions from fellow Scion-lovers and those that have had turbo on their ride and get a nitty-gritty response.

Any and all info is appreciated.

The auto trans can't handle anything over 240.

I'm auto too..and wat to get turbo...my opinion is tranny swap would be worth it but it depends what your goal is for power..if its 300whp..i would recommend a tranny swap...if 240-260whp..just get valve and torque converter upgrade!
i hope this helps!

Yeah bro all this is super useful info. I wish I could go higher with an auto. It'd be something not normally seen.

you CAN go high in an auto but itll be too much money and in the end a manual swap is better so you can control your shift points easier

How exactly would you be able to go higher in an auto?

Some sort of frankenstein Chevy tranny work?

Yea a built tranny but a manual swap would be cheaper in the end......However a fully built auto tranny tuned at correct shift points would beat a manual tc with the same hp

yes but at the same time, a built tranny costs more than a manual swap and a manual tranny can hould around 500+hp np!

The best advice I can give you instead of listening to people that say they don't 'think' it would be hard or you can accomplish 'xxxwhp' on the stock auto tranny and making the FAILED attempt to 'build' the tC's tranny is to send a few PM's to SoFloTC and mospeed as well as checking out this thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=auto+turbo

They will be able to help you out much more than people who aren't turbo'd, don't have auto's and don't even have tC's.

The easiest way to hit 300whp.

Sell your auto.
Buy a 5-spd.
Boost.

Doing a swap will cost you too much and take too long.
