Default There will be a Supercharger available for the 07's/08's

As stated from trdusa.com:

"The TRD tC Supercharger will fit all 2005 and 2006 tC's with both manual and automatic transmissions. The supercharger kit part number is PTR01-21050-90. When used on an automatic transmission, a PTR01-21051 A/T Fit Kit is also required. An ECU adapter tool is required for all installations. Toyota Service Tool 00605-17620. A supercharger kit to fit 2007 models will be available later this year."

Its still going to take quite a while for TRD to make a new design...

I don't see why they have the supercharger giving so little horsepower lol. Correct me if I'm wrong but paying $3,200 for a supercharger that gives you 40hp and raises your torque I dunno maybe 30% really worth it? Why not go ahead and buy a $4,800 Stage II Turbo from Turbonetics? You gain 140hp and your torque goes to like 250+ lol.

My initial dyno with 0 mods = 137 whp

My latest dyno with the supercharger, NST pulley and a Megan header / s-pipe ran 231 wheel hp. That is a 94whp gain.

Take away the pulley and header and I am confident she would be putting down 200whp which is still a 63whp gain under warranty!

I paid $2950 for my sc and installed it myself. If I did 0 modifications to the car, that puts me at a doller per whp ratio of $14.75 dollers per whp gained!

Now add into the mix a $100 NST pulley and the $300 I spent on the megan header and s-pipe... with those gaines I am at a $14.50 per whp gain.

Now lets look at say.... the turbonetics kit that is out. It is a VERY nice kit and looks HOT! But do the math at the 240 whp people are netting and your at $19.79 per whp!

ZPI's stage 1 comes in at $17.47 per whp. The stage 0 is a steal of a bargain at $11.71 per whp gain but man... no engine management..? Sorry, would not even bother with that.

Now here is the funny part! You guys will spend $31.25 per whp gain on an intake! or even more on an exhaust!

If ya look at the bare numbers... the TRD kit is really a great value! Especially if you look at the doller per whp ratio.

I've seen that one their website for awhile and I hope there is truth to it... I plan on getting my 07 in about a month and the SC is basically the reason I looked at the tC in the first place (Warrantied boost) Guess we will wait and see.

I did the math before also and I would have gotten the SC too. But where im from (hawaii) the price for the TRD SC for tC here is $3,999 installed!!-->I **** you not, lol.

So I went with Turbonetics ($4,800 shipped) installed it with the help of friends.

Good calculation!

I hate to bump this old thread, but the math is wrong. You can't really use total hp/$, it has to be ADDITIONAL HP / $.

So for this example:
S/C = $3000 self install, 50 whp increase. 3000/50 = $60/whp
S/C + 9.5 lb pulley = $3200 self install, 70 whp increase. 3200/70 = $45.71/whp
Turbo and gauges from a better manufacturer = $5000, 125 whp increase. 5000/125 = $40/whp

Axleback exhaust = $300, 4 whp increase, 300/4 = $75/whp
