Desertheat:
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. It's just that I got the supercharger because I didn't want to have to monkey around with it too much and I didn't want to void my warranty. And once again I think that the supercharger IS good, it's just that I think everyone hypes it up sooo much to be an awesome killing machine and that's why it is overrated.

Tikbhoy:
Yes maybe it's not fair to compare a s/c tc to a V6 car, but I was just thinking by adding about $4k to our cars we start to get close in price to other cars with V6's (within a few thousand dollars). So is that a fair comparison?

AH def not, it is sooo not a killing machine out of the box but does make the tc fun to drive. And if you drive in very high altitudes you know how much of a DOG the tc can be, the sc cures it and gives her a good breath of air up high.

Also if your slick you can get the cap off without damage and stick on the nst pulley in about 15 minutes. If you do a belt change it is all about a 30-45 minute job with the most basic of hand tools. WELL worth the effort in my book.

Also the sport 110 is a great upgrade and it is cosmetically identicle to stock. Toyota cannot tell the difference and it will not void your warranty.

I am purchasing my supercharger as soon as I can order it from work. My price will be 10% over cost so right around $2800 give or take. I already ordered an nst sc and crank pulley and will do the install myself. I am so glad I bought my tc now that I work at a Toyota/Scion dealer. I can get paid to do my own warranty repairs and get the 5 year warranty when I install my supercharger. First on the list is new brakes and a new roof.

^^^hey I would recheck that with your in state sales tax. I ended up thinking the same way as you and it came out to be cheaper to buy it from mcgeorgeparts instead of my dealership

Yea that is what I am waiting on. I have to see what the total is going to be with sales tax then I will decide where to purchase it. As for the new roof on some scion tc's you will develop a slight rattle that can only occasionally be heard on very bumpy roads or over some pot holes. It will come from the rear of the car and almost sound like it is coming from the trunk. It is more noticeable on lowered cars, my understanding is any tc's lowered on s-techs or a similar drop, and it will not happen in every tc. To fix the rattle the only thing the other techs at my dealership have seen work is to replace the roof assembly. I will be looking into this more soon before I do it to make sure I can't find an easier solution.

Yeah I have heard of that, no issues as of yet with my 06. I thought it could be cured per other posts, and not by replaceing the full roof.

When it is open if the deflector is rattling I know there is an easy fix involving foam. I also have that issue and have had it since purchase. I will post more info as soon as I get it. If your rattle is coming from the roof itself being open I do not currently know of any fix for that. Mine rattles something fierce when open.

is it open 100%..? On mine if it is open to the first setting it rattles on really bumpy roads, if I push them button again and open it the extra 2 inches or so, the rattle goes away 100% on any road surface...

my dealer said they had a meeting and it was brought up. There is some sort of felt thing they can install if they find it as a problem. But they drove mine and apparently it didn't do it, so they did install the fix. That bugged me. They probably drove it with the sunroof closed...doesn't rattle when closed, just when in the vented position or open.

argh..

If mine is open on either setting it rattles really bad. The main rattle I tend to hear is the one when its closed.

I ordered my supercharger yesterday. Got it for $2929.50. Can't wait to get all my mods under way. I'm going to do them in stages so I can compare the differences. I'm trying to find a dyno around me that is cheap enough to let me do a run after each part install. If I find one I will have some dyno sheets for everybody.

Guys I will probably NOT be buying the TRD SC instead I am gonna buy my 19" rims like I orignally planned and hold off on the FI. Maybe once the tC gets paid off and by that time there will be much more experience in this category for this young car and maybe then I will see about getting the Turbo. Plus I will probably be getting my 96 Xplorer 5.0 and I know once I get that thing I will spend quite a bit on her. At one time she was a beauty now she is looking and sounding alittle butch.

there are a bunch of dynos posted on SL of people that dynoed with ONLY the supercharger. Just search. I have not seen a s/c tC dyno less than 192whp, which equates to about 216hp (assuming 13% drivetrain loss). Some even got as much as 200whp which equates to about 225hp (once again assuming 13% drivetrain loss. These number will vary depending on type of dynos used and the temperature, weather, etc. So you are lookin at between 215 and 225hp with JUST the supercharger.

Wrong

Were you EXACTLY 200 or like 195 and you are calling it 200? And who goes by crank #'s? He was talking in Crank #'s, no one is interested in what's at the engine more than they are at the wheels.

To each his own, I never could understand paying that much for 200ish whp, and then having to spend even more money to break 230whp.
