Default Tranny Slipping...Need opinions...

SO my Auto t/c is working itself apart now. after 5k turbod, on a 70k transmission, can't blame it...

So my biggest question is:
1)Trade in for possible RS6.0, or at least another manual...
2)Build transmission
3) Swap to manual.

I currently don't have a lot of finances, but I am able to find stuff if i need to. I will have money not too long from now, but trying to come up with a lot know is not gonna happen.

Start calling junkyards - sometimes you will find parts for CHEEAP! I found a couple yards that had just tons of tc parts so they just wanted to get rid of them. It looks like even with my $380 clutch selection Ill be able to complete my manual swap for under $1200 :D

I was at the same crossroads. I found my used 5 speed with 7K for $350. I can break them all day long. The swap is cheap if you go all used parts. biggest expense will be clutch and flywheel. I spent the $4k for a built trans instead on the swap and engine mods.

Only thing about a manual swap is the down time. And no way I can complete it all...

But i will look into it...Even though getting a rebuilt auto(upgraded clutches, band, and valvebody) for about $1500 installed

No way its that cheap. It might be that much for the parts but a trans shop will charge you about that much to install the parts. A built trans will cost you around $3000

so you think it would be cheaper doing a manual swap or sell the auto and look for a used manual tc?

Ah but i don't go to trans shop...know a guy good with them, gonna see about him doing them.

Parts are only 1200 + shipping for rebuild and valvebody upgrade from level ten.

I would ideally like to keep this tC...sentimental value ya know...

I will start researching a manual to auto swap though, just in case.

from the junkyard it looks like a swap parts are around 700bucks, but then you have to install it yourself.
