I'll admit, I'm a bit confused about your decision but hey, I guess in his defense an upgraded setup for his SC is only like $100 (Pulley) as compared to like $1000 for a turbo. Thats about the only defense I could come up with for ya SoCAL lol... nice to see you boosted either way...

Right now im only invested $3300 Total, Pulley included. The only way I would have went turbo, is if I went Turbonetics... and thats probably about $2000 + further than what I am invested now. Installing a Colling set-up is about efficency, saftey. You're making it sound like if someone wants a SuperCharger they should just leave it at that, when even Turbo guys will upgrade a Turbo set-up. And the Vortech V-5 F-Trim (TRD s/c) will perform more efficiently and support more power than any of the turbo kits out for the tC right now.

yes i have. but he peaks at 12 psi because of the cooler... so you're really limited on our set up, you are correct that the SC can produce more power than the turbos available for our car, but soon as you throw in our cluster____ of a pulley setup all that goes out the window...

we cant go past 14.5 PSI on the SC... thats it end of discussion... so the only way you'll ever pass the Stage 1 turbo guys is with nitrous, some head work, or a very very good tune... not knocking on your decision i had the SC for a quite a while... just seems like you're in it for a lot of power, and you spen more money then need be to get the power you have right now...

so my question is have you been paying attention to the other turbo threads LOL

But either way, I wanna see some dynos when you get that 9.5psi pulley on there. Are you going to change your belt??? How about your BPV because mine leaked like crazy with the new pulley I'm sure there's a good 5-10 whp being lost beause of it... Another thing is what kind of management are you running because you can unlock a lot of HP just by leaning it out a bit. Hope all goes well...

There has been talk of a Pulley set-up allowing for us to surpass the 14psi barrier, I guess you didnt hear about that. But yea, I will be using the reccomended size belt when I install it.

Even though currently we can only reach 14psi, kytc is already in the neighborhood of / approaching 300whp. If any s/c tC reaches 300whp it will be his. Besides that, I dont need to justify my reasons. If everybody is so concerned about power, why do N/A guys stay N/A, why dont we all have full blown drag tC's, because its about what your prefference is. I do what I do because its what I like. I had the money to buy a Evo MR or STi when I was car shopping but chose the tC because its what caught my eye.

yes i Have read and first hand seen an attempt at upgrading past the 14psi... i'm not sure you know who you're talking too If you only knew......

anywho the N/A guys are running CAIs and headers, I'm not sure those are going to the all out tuning such as you or myself so guys who's total investment in their car is a third of one part added to your car is not really a good idea to drag them here into comparison.

but its good to hear your going about everything correctly... try not to be so defensive, just trying to get your reasons for spendin the extra $600, to which you could have simply replied:

Because I prefer the SC and I want to try to follow KYTCs footsteps.

For christ sake I was defending you at first

Im deffensive by nature. To me a person is a person, I don't idolize/put people on a pedistol no matter who they are, Even celebs are just another person. I treat everybody the same as another person, no better no worse. I wasnt retaliating with my response to you and Tongs statements, just putting out a general answer for why I do what I do, it was directed to everybody, not any one person.

The only way you can put it is, everybody has their prefference. Whatever it may be, N/A, S/C, or Turbo. Obviously if someone is going to buy a s/c or turbo that is not going to be their only mod, and you guys were questioning why I was trying to mod, when isnt that why all of us here are in the F/I forum?

had my ZPI pulley on for like three months no issues... unless its a horrific job of cad work and machinging a pulley is a round piece of metal that spins, very very rare for one of those to get messed up, and TRUST ME, ZPI won't let that happen again...
