TRD Shift Light Installed *Pics/Vids Pg1*
So I installed the TRD Shift Light, one of the easiest installs I have ever done. So far its nice, I havent really messed with any of the modes yet but I am wondering what rpm should i set it on for maxium shift potential.
I heard that since I have a S/C i should set it on 6500rpm's for the best optimal shift point since thats when we make the most. Im going to the drag strip on friday to see what I can run stock and then add the unichip and see if it makes a diff if my tuning is good and such.
So where should i shift at 6500rpm's ? 6000rpms ? inbetween
let me know. the shiftlight is def nice

hmm i heard 6500 from a member on here who got a 14.7 stock at the drag strip he said thats where he shifted, according to him our car redlines at 6600rpm's or well hits the limiter at 6600

it comes with a adhesive mount for both units, i got the TRD box/controller sitting on the left fuse box cover for easy adjustment, and the shift light sitting below the ignition key for non direct line of sight,.

Go drive your car and look at the rpms... Go punch it and floor it to redline... it redlines at 6200... not 6500. It might go to 6500 but its not good. unless you have turbo and a piggy back ecu or standalone system and its all tuned. That is not your case from what you told us.

However, on the tC, just shift right below redline for the best power.

With the supercharger, you deffinetly want to run it out to redline, or close to it. We make all of our power at the top of our RPMS. When you shift, you want to be as high into the rpms as possible.
And like someone said, set the light lower than redline. If you set it at redline, By the time you see the light, process the lihgt in your mind. And tell your hand to shift, press the clutch in and move the lever. You will have hit the limiter.

i would personally set it 500rpms below what you would want to shift at, which would be redline. Set it at 5700rpm.
From 2nd to 3rd, that will be a quick shift so it will be valuable there.
From 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th, it will be slower so train yourself when you will shift during those instances.
