Default TRD supercharged Scion tC verus P-Tuning Turbocharged tC @ Scion Show of Champions!

some videos of me and mo drag racing at capital raceway during the scion show of champions. my launches look better than they felt, i thought i was just sitting and spinning when i launched the car, but looking at the video it looked pretty good actually. too bad my times weren't that great though. it was the first time for both of us drag racing, and it was over 105 degrees so it was pretty hot out there killing some of our horses.

i'm in the closer lane, silver tC with 225 whp, 5 speed manual, mo in the farther lane with the orange and black tC with 277 whp, 5 speed manual.

i am on summer tire though, bfgoodrich kdw's, and he was on some all season tires.

drax have some lsd and some lagless charger and prolly launched better.. mo needs to work on his launch and get some better tires, that orange tc looks like a show car too so i expect a heavy system inside.. what are the times btw?

The track I think was basing the time off when you left the line. Although we both crossed near the same time my time were lower than his. Yes I need better tires couldnt get anything going in 1st or 2nd

On a note I reeled him in quick once I started rolling, You can see the lead he got off the line but at the end I was either right with him or passing him.

And if anyone has kept track with my build my car was gutted.only my seat and the stock pass seat. everything back was gone. My times were high 13's to low 14s. Drax I think was getting high 14's if I recall maybe even low 15's

Mo has LSD as well, right?

better tires are a must, i guess the linear power band of the charger also makes it easier to launch!

what clutches are you both running as well?

i posted the times for our runs with their respective videos on youtube. i wish i ran a high 14, my best time was 15.1 that day. i was blaming my launches and the heat, but after actually watching my video's, my launches looked much better than they felt.

mo, your reaction time doesn't count towards your e/t, so even though your times were lower than mine, i still got to the finish line before you did both times.

first run, my r/t was .631 and yours was .922, and i won by .2718 of a second, second, my r/t was .735 and yours was 1.623, and i wont by .1090 of a second. so you were reeling me in, but i simply beat you off the line and had the better launch with my tires.

yeah, yeah, i know they are slow r/t's, also, i forgot, the 60' on the first run was 2.420 for me, and 2.466 for mo, and the second run was 2.545 for me and 2.573 for mo. so there is much improvement for launching to be found. but like i said, first time drag racing. not really used to sitting there holding an rpm and dropping the clutch like that.

that track sucks. it 50ft longer than a real 1/4 mile track and they dont like to spend the money on the up keep of the track and the coumputer software that they use is way outdated. the reasons why no big events are held there like NHRA. go to MIR you'll run .500 quicker and wont spin off the line as much. do to better track prep. at MIR with my s/c set up i run 14.2-14.5 at 99-96mph at (crapital) i cant do better then 14.7-15.0

Its hard to see the finish line in the video... I wonder what a Supercharged/turboed tC would do?....

hmmm...interesting, so my times were kinda slow because the track is actually alittle longer than 1/4 mile, and it isn't very well prepped? i was kicking myself since my times were pretty awful, only about as fast as a stock tc really. plus, they make you drive thru a puddle of water, even if you don't wanna stage (i've never done a burn-out either), so everytime off the line my tires were wet.

thats interesting.
i would like to see a video of that.
i've never seen a supercharged tc (even with the 9.5 pulley)
run faster than a 14.7

yeah they make all cars go through the water to force you to do a burnout. not good for street tires. as water remeans in the tread. and street tires tend to get to hot to quick during a burnout. and are greasey during launch. hey drax where in MD are you never sceen another s/c in my area i'm in glen burnie 10min from capital raceway
