Default TRD supercharger questions

i'm getting a TRD supercharged Tc with the trd axle back and clutch kit, and suspension. My question is....will the cold air intake from TRD be compatible with the supercharger??? Lastly, can i increase my boost on my supercharger with a boost controller from greddy, etc????

You could use the CAI but it would hafta be cut to properly fit. You can not increase boost from a supercharger without a smaller diameter pulley or different compressor wheel.

You can probably make the TRD intake work if you cut it a bit. No one has tried it yet, but it would definitely require a bit of custom work.

You will realize this yourself when you get your supercharger installed... you can not raise boost on the supercharger with an electronic device like a turbo car can. Your supercharger is a belt driven unit that has a pulley attached to its shaft. The speed of the pulley determines the amount of boost that the supercharger will make.

Do yourself a favor and visit www.NonStopTuning.com and take a look at their project tC. Then take a look at the pulleys they have for the supercharged tC and you will be good to go!

if you're going for times, get the turbonetics if you can afford it. if you're going for a car that is alot more fun to drive, go for the s/c, which will give you more low end power and cost you less.

$3200 for 1 sec of the 1/4 mile is not good, not good at all, turbonetics aint convincing me way too many problems rising up lately. thanks for the feed back kid

there have been some impressive numbers from the turbonetics, but I'd still go with the s/c. it won't do as much for your track times, but like you said, it's cheaper, and like I said, it'd be way more fun to drive. it's all in what you're going for.

Very true.. A few people are hitting 14.9's with N/A tC without any internal work, just minor bolt ons.

The best time for any SC'ed tC on this site is a 14.3.. That's with a good launch, alot of bolt-ons, and a smaller pulley. Most of the SC'ed tC's don't even run that fast.

Not worth the money at all.

only true if you're building for a fast 1320. personally, my time spent at the drag strip will be vastly outweighed by my time spent on the street, so that's what I'd rather build for.

Well I dont know theres like maybe 15 or so people with the tn kit and at least 5 of them have posted some kind of problem. I know I dont spend any time at the track either, I just want to know that I can hang with a 13 sec car

I wouldn't go with the TRD supercharger then.
