its not worth much ... ... its $1850.00 new. But anyway - back to the pulley.

if anybody takes it off ..use a torque wrench and see about how much torque it was put on with. I was told it was on with 35lbs

ok people seriously, I really doubt that toyota went through all the trouble to thin k of something to screw up the s/c if the bolt was removed. people are making it more then it really is. just weld a head on the bolt remove it, and go to a local hardwear store and buy a replacement

yeah my buddy is a welder as well...Ill probably have him help me out with that...I dont know when though cause my seals in my S/C are already leaking and I need to fix that first. But welding a head on sounds like our best bet.

yeah there is supposedly a guy on here who's a lock smith and has the key to remove it. so I've been trying to see if he has ever takein one off yet so I could see if he ran into any problems. no luck with that so far... I also know a locksmith locally so I was trying to contact the sl member to see what key he ordered so I could get one, but I've gotten no response from that wither

Okay, here's a dumb question for you guys... if there's no way to (yet) remove this bolt, then there's no way to install this bolt, correct? So how do the DIYer guys install this kit by themselves?

Or is this done on a per dealership basis, in order to retain the warranty? And if that's the case, they should be legally obligated to replace the bolt (in exchange for not honoring most warranty claims) with the bolt that comes in the kit. No company has a right to tell you where you can and can't get service, or even not to do the work yourself. :D

Ahh, see...I knew it was a dumb question. :D

But it still doesn't solve the problem of what happens if the pulley breaks after the warranty expires? Toyota would almost have to oblige you, even if it meant replacing the bolt with an obvious "DON'T GIVE WARRANTY SERVICE" one, right? Otherwise, it'd be like buying a car with an upgrade wheel package with wheel locks, and never being given the key.

well, i'm sure in the contract they state soemthing like that

and i'm sure if it breaks after warranty they will do the same thing they do if your car warranty breaks and you ask them to fix it

they tell you sorry but we can't do anything, you have to go get it fixed.

We do alot of modifying on different cars, such as srunners, supras, tc's.

we have one of the o7's and it has the key type wheel lock on it,

I simply put a 1 1/4 nut on the key and welded it and it came off without any hesitation, I then replaced it with a bolt from autozone..

very simple

I just hope the charger doesnt break again!

Our first compresser shaft stripped out or something trd said after 100 miles. hopefully they fixed it
