I'd score the head in an X and use a heavy duty screwdriver.

Simply weld a nut onto and then put a socket on the but you welded on. A couple hits from an impact wrench and it will come right off.

I’ll have to agree with engifineer’s statement. If you do happen to do what you are wanting to do, and it results in fudging up something that was built as it was intended, please don’t go screaming “warranty! warranty!” Unless you are an expert and have legitimate proof that your mod didn’t cause the defect… Not only does it cause them to be more **** about approving warranty claims, but it also increases future costs for the consumer.

“Stick it to the man!” Unless this results in them giving it to the next guy down the line, since they were not at fault. If you can’t take one for the team, then it’s time to quit the game you’re playing. Cheaters can be winners, but it also effs it up for those who follow the rules….

But if you weld a nut onto it, it would have to be balanced, because after all you would have to put it back on... seeing as there are no bolts that hold the pulley on just laying around.

GOOD NEWS GUYS! for those of you with an 05-06 TC, the new lower priced SC kit has the old tamper proof cap. NOT the new tamper proof bolt of the new 07-08 SC kit.

My kit is being installed right now at Longo toyota.. I went out there to talk to the mechanic and he showed me the old cap. NOT the bolt. awesome!

this is just one more reason to go turbo instead. the pulley they use stock makes it no fun.

thats def good news. diesel, how much was the total for everything with the S/C? and how many S/C has longo installed? I'm looking into doing it at Hamer, but I'm still unsure.

total for the S/C installed, total everything = $2750. They pricematched the kit to Carson Toyota ($2035) and charged me $560 for install.

And seeing as Longo Toyota is the biggest Toyota dealer in the nation, i'm sure they know what they're doing.

you don't have to cut it off. its not rocket science, but that blurry pic is not helping me much.

go out to your car and measure the distance between 2 points in the star please. pick 1 point and then measure the exact opposite point in the star..wide as possible and use a good caliper.

then get back to me.
