Todd, i know you have the basik kit, but what if you had a super basik kit... no front mount, no special manifold. basically an exact replica of the ZPI stage 0. something that would make 210ish whp at 5 psi or so... i dunno if that's doable, but a lot of people went the ZPI stage 0 route just based on it's inexpensiveness. if you could sell that without fuel management for about $2100ish like ZPI did, i'm sure people reluctant to spend $$$$$$ would jump on it. my $.02

ps- did you ever get that heat foil in? haha

I was thinking more along of having a "simple" series

How does that sound?

well..i think that would work perfectly with what jax said...you should put a 18G on there too....make sure its a fast spool to make the k.i.s.s. kit worth it.

IMO, im like a couple others on here...how about 2.5K
No management, fast spoolin turbo t3/t4, 38MM wastegate, mandrel piping, with FMIC that needs no crash bar modding, with something like your "zpi replacement mani"

I want to go boost soon, and 300+ hp would be real nice, but realistically i would just absolutely love roughly 250hp...since i drive my car everday, do plenty of driving, and def. love to take my car to the track once in awhile, lol

HELL YEAH! $2400 puts it in competition with the SuperCharger that my boys saving up for! I just didn't want him to do it cause of the SC bearings going out, but he wanted something different...I guess we've found it!

Just saw this thread...

imo your stage 2 is perfect, but I would say a great kit would be one that comes with everything needed such as injectors, plugs, and engine management (piggyback). Everything can be selectable, such as wastegates, bov's, and what step of colder plugs the customer wants. Also you could start with the e-manage, and the customer could upgrade to the AEM f/ic, ultimate, or even the AEM EMS standalone (for an increase of cost of course)

As far as the turbo is concerned, it would start out with your basic t3/t4 hybrid, then if you wanted to upgrade from there again it would be x amount of dollars.

Have all of your manifolds start with lets say the basik one you have now, then you could upgrade to the version 2 for x amount. You can even have give the option to the customer of having a full exhaust sent with the kit so they don't have to look anywhere else.

Start the price at $2,500 to $3,000 shipped then whatever upgrades the customer chooses move up from there.

I am sorry, but I don't think a kit like stage 0 should be around, a non-intercooled kit and a kit without a piggyback or engine management of some sort is just asking for trouble and could put out a bad reputation for you (i.e. my motor blew after I put the TT kit on and he said everything was going to be fine! don't buy from him, yada yada yada)

So if it were to Start out at $2500, kit would come with...
-t3/t4 turbo with a/r of choice (add 500 for BB, add 750 for gt30, 1k for gt35)
-basik manifold (upgrade to the ver. 2.1 +$250)
-38mm waste gate with spring of choice (upgrade to 44mm WG free with purchase of the Garrett turbos)
-drop in 550cc injectors (upgrade to 650cc +50 to 100, larger keep adding)
-emanage blue or aem f/ic (customer choice, upgrading to ultimate lets say +200, EMS +1500, also have a pnp harness available for $100, no one wants to spend $300 for one)
-all intercooler piping, mendrel bent, and no modification done to crash bar (upgradable intercooler size and piping size)
-downpipe, spipe, and dumptube included
-choice of bov
-leave all pipes uncoated (if the customer wants coating, +100 for intercooler piping, +100 for manifold and downpipe/s-pipe)
-optional s-pipe back exhaust for $350 or so
-choice of spark plug cold step

just throwing out random ideas....

Why not an economically designed "tree hugger" kit with a low boost turbocharger, EPA approved catted downpipe that increases all around MPG by a good 20%, very reliable, looks nice and clean looking and can also be set to race-track mode using a digital boost controller, all for under $3,699 with EM and gauges? I'm pretty sure it would sell fast especially if it could run on 89 or lower gas.

I would sell my GReddy kit I have that is not reliable AT ALL (boost leaks average every 2 weeks!) and cost me 4 grand (plus a lot of gas, day-offs and temporary leaves.) for everything including a Mustang Dyno tune in San Diego. And I'll buy your kit in a heart beat!
