Honestly the car didn't feel like 309tq it had the worst lag ever n at that time re car was not running right car didn't know what to do when I pushed it, so it only had that power for about 3-4 months.. But dam less power n tranny was gone wow, did u beat on it a lot, it mayb that I drive a lot on the highway or something

Did you change your ATF when you installed the B&M cooler? If so, what did you change from/to? I'm currently working on a theory that changing out Toyo's "fuel economy" low viscosity WS fluid for a full syn normal viscosity fluid will improve line pressure, reduce slippage and temps.

FWIW, IPT recommends NV Amsoil syn ATF, not the LV version. A M1 tech I spoke with felt that the viscosity difference between M1 syn and WS is slight enough that M1 should work fine in place of WS. They just can't officially approve M1 syn for WS use because of the viscosity difference and IMO, the fact that Exxon Mobil makes WS for Toyota NA.

AFAIK, low viscosity full syn ATFs rated for WS use are Amsoil LV and Red Line D6. Normal viscosity full syn ATFs to replace T-IV and WS (unofficially) are Amsoil, D4, M1 and Eneos. I have not found anything to suggest that Toyota made any changes to the U241E tranny when they switched from T-IV to WS. Just as Toyota made no changes to the 2AZ-FE when they switched from 5w30 to 0w20 motor oil.

To the OP, what ATF are you running?

I've heard that before but DezodDon says they don't and offers strong supporting evidence.

For the past 3 tranny fluid changes I have been using Motul n dame for my oil changes, n the only thing that I changed from the tranny cooler was the hoses, n the fitting that conects the tranny fluid lines, reason was because the original B&M hose burst n I didn't know till I smelled it, I almost lost half of my fluid tranny but good thing I noticed it quick.....

That's helpful to know for us boosted ATs. Use good ATF and change it often. I actually bypassed my radiator and ran new lines to my B&M cooler but I'm thinking about changing it back when I change atf next week. The old turbo placement was quite close to the stock trans lines but the new setup isn't. Running through the radiator should help warm the atf when cold while still providing some cooling when hot. The aux B&M cooler should keep it from overheating.
