Default Tuning real sports cars - ha

Its funny that when I look at car parts and mod my car ... I say to myself "man Im spending a lot of money"

Then - I see sites like this:
http://www.lingenfelter.com/

....and say ... "man those tC parts are cheap" - lol.

I know there are others that are saying the same thing so I figured it would be a good laugh for some of you.

When I hit midlife crisis, I won't be in a Vette. Perhaps an 800whp 350Z, but not a vette guy by any nature.

Check out some of the Dinan parts. It costs more than a tC after taxes for a Stage 2 Supercharger kit for an M3.

The most expensive things I've noticed for the Evo have been wheels and tires. The wheels I'm looking at are $365 each without tires

$365, that's it. I've been looking at wheels in the $500 range for the tC or 350Z. Wheels are subjected to pricing by brand, not by car.

Yea I'm aware of that. Everything else except maybe the Exedy twin is fairly similar to the tC in terms of price. GT35R turbo kits in the ~6k range, intakes for around 2-300, exhausts between 600-1000, etc etc. I guess if you start getting into the Ohlin's suspension, the price starts going up but that's a premium track setup. And I can't really compare camshaft pricing since the tC doesn't have any available :p

The wheels I was looking at when I had my tC were <200/ea and only 8.0 wide. Now I'm looking for 9.0-9.5 wide with tires to match.

I gave the sadface because while I'm more than willing to spend the money to make my car look better while at the same time have erection-inducing traction, I'm also commiting to spending more on tires every so often due to a slightly aggressive alignment, having my fenders rolled, and having to deal with having more weight on my wheels, since the stock BBS's are lighter than what I had in mind. Not to mention choosing to spend the ~2 or 2.5k on wheels/tires instead of maybe finishing out my BPUs and getting a solid custom tune instead of just a flash. BLAH~!

I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm looking at 18x9.5 and 18x10's for the 350Z. Then to boot, expensive azz rubber to match them. It gets pretty pricey.

Espeically when you plan on drifting.
