Default Turbo '07 tC question??

This guy is trying to sell me everything to turbo my tC but it was not originally made for the '07.... I'm getting everything except the exhaust manifold and the injectors... would everything else still fit on the car???

You will need a different MAF adapter. Also, if he's not giving you the exhaust manifold or injectors, i'd just hold off. You NEED those. What kit is it by the way?

That's what I'm trying to find out... He's giving me everything for pretty cheap, so after pricing the manifold and injectors it should be around $2000 for the whole kit... but I didn't price the MAF adapter as yet.

For the MAF adapter, check out treadstoneperformance.com. THey make a MAF adapter for the 07.

so the piping, oil return, bov... all that other stuff would still work for the '07?

That's pretty cheap for a turbo.... is it like HIGHLY used? because if it is, I would just recommend a '07 Dezod or '07 ZPI...

he said its brand new minus manifold and injectors... but he wont give me a brand name, but says the turbo has the serial number and model number on it...

Get the info on the turbo. That will let us know whether its worth it or not. Find out what flange it is-T3 or T4. What the trim is, A/R and who makes it.

"A turbo comes in all shapes and sizes. There are major differences between turbos out there. Here are some of them:
AR: The AR is what primarily determines how much lag you can expect with a turbo charger. A larger AR means a larger lag, but with more top-end power. A smaller AR gives you better spool-up but may not produce enough pwer on the top end. A larger AR is the exact opposite. The number that you need depends on your application and the turbo professionals out there know what’s best for you. (This does include myself and Paul!
Trim:
Trim is the size of the wheels on the turbo. There are two wheels. A compressor wheel (intake side), and an exhaust wheel (exhaust side).
Turbo housing:
There are so many different turbo options out there it’s hard to say which is best. There are different flange types out there as well. So when you buy a manifold with a T3 or a T25 flange for example, you need to buy turbos that are flanged the same way, so that things bolt up. Exhaust and compressor housing also affects spool and top-end power, and is very similar to the AR values. A T3/T04B is smaller than a T3/T04E. A 16G is smaller than a 20G. All have different flow characteristics and are efficient in different areas. Once again, a turbo professional can help you decide which is best for you. "

Its a guy off eBay, but I'm not sure if it is or is not an eBay kit. He takes forever to respond to my questions.

^^^What nebster said. Do NOT buy that kit. If that were a legit t3/t4 turbo, he would have listed the manufacturer. he's leading people to belive that is a turbonetics turbo, but its not. Stage 0 would be a better bet.
