Turbo Exhaust Question

Turbo Exhaust Question
Quick question for those who have experimented with the exhaust on their turbo setup. I currently have my custom 2.5" downpip from the turbo, factory spipe, and than straight 2.5" midpipe and axle back - its all straight pipe with a 30" resonator. If i pulled the midpipe and axle back making it basically a downpipe from the turbo + axle back, would i be able to gain anything? BTW emissions dont apply to me as im in the best state ever, Oklahoma lol (well at least its one nice thing about living here). Now all the bends in the midpipe back are crush bends, thats why i was thinking dumping from the s pipe to lower the restrictions in the exhaust

Any time you free up restrictions you will most likely gain hp.
Why don't you just install a cut-out from the DP with a switch in the cabin? This way you can have a full exhaust during normal driving and open up the DP whenever you need that extra power.

im running a 3" downpipe, and nothing after, and have made substantial gains. when you free up exhaust, you eliminate backpressure. backpressure can cause exhaust gasses to contaminate the fuel air mixture causing an increase in intake temps. thus robbing power and causing detonation. so if you can get away with it, take off everything after the downpipe. just get ready for some noise, cause its loud.

Do you drive it daily with it dp only? Just curious, i dont rly mind the noise in fact my car is pretty quite at the moment, but i dont want it to be so loud i cant talk lol and no the cops dont care here lol
