Default Turbo + Hood = Problem!

Ok, So I recently got my Dezod S1 kit and I love it. The other day I was driving it and when I parked I noticed the paint on my Kaminari hood right above the turbine exhaust housing was starting to bubble a little bit.

So my turbo is causing my hood to bubble and basically melt the paint away in a sense.

What can I do to fix this or whats the best way to go about this?

most people ive seen was put a lining of aluminum under the hood and then some turbo wrap or some heat shield. that should cure it.

or the easier way... just give me ur turbo and save urself the headache... ill take all that headache away from you.

yeah put some heat shield especially on the manifold, or some aluminum lining or that gold foil under the hood.. i never thought you would run some issues with the dezod manifold, but i guess its the kaminari hood

Well its not the Dezod manifold... Its the turbo exhaust housing that gets the hottest. If i touch my hood after driving it hard for awhile, The hood is so hot I cant even touch it in that spot

yeah like this..

Just DO NOT WRAP YOUR MANIFOLD/DOWNPIPE with any sort of heat wrap.....just use a turbo blanket and get some gold foil for under your hood

Whose ever car is pictured above....you want to unwrap your manifold and dp asap....at least if they are SS.....all you are doing is creating a potential problem with the heat wrap....and cracking.......no matter who built it or how it was built is in your future.

Regards-

Todd

Ok, this seriously makes me think. Because he has the Kaminari Reverse Cowl Hood and I want the same hood, BUT in carbon fiber. I am not sure if carbon fiber is more heat resistant. But, if it's the same problem, then it will become brittle and yellow. Alex, how's the paint on your hood doing? I would let it cool down for days to harden. Drive without a hood, LOL, not sure if it's legal.

AND go easy, cuz I have the Defi EGT gauge and when I beat on it, it goes UP. But, when I go easy on it, it's so low, you can basically almost (make sure the oil has time to go down) turn it off cuz it's not so hot.

Haha, I know I can drive it. But I just don't want to right now. My girlfriend has a ford focus and she lets me drive it and she drives me around. So i dont have to get 15 mpg! Im trying to save money right now so thats why its sitting. Not because of the hood and heat issue.

Oh, I gotcha. I hate the saving money part. Makes you wanna buy parts, but you can't. It sucks. I am about to order the Kaminari Carbon Fiber Reverse Cowl Hood. But, I have a question for you Alex, we have buds on the top of the hood for the windshield wipers, do they come pre cut out or what?
