Anodizing is such a minimal layer of surface contamination, that a really large result in terms of heat transfer/dissipation wouldn't be noticable...
Many guys, like what I'm planning to do, have FMIC's anodized black, with VERY little reduction in operating performance, as the "Coating" is REALLY, REALLY thin.

That's kind of what I'm trying to get at. I'm trying to understand what the best type of coating would be to acheive both aesthetics and performance (meaning heat insulation or disappation) on piping, manifold, intercooler, turbo housing, etc.

Powder coatoing will definately hold up to the heat... as it's originally baked onto the part in the first place...
I'm unsure as the heat insulation and such... I'm not sure if anyone really knows.... you can always get them jet hot, or ceramic coated....

Good to know about the powdercoating and I don't even know if you'd need to insulate the piping. I plan on only coating the manifold and turbo housing with jethot and anodizing the intercooler. The pipes I'll prolly just powdercoat now that I know the paint will hold up.
