Default Turbo time!

Can anybody help me put together a moderate turbo custom kit? I want to make sure I have everything I need to have it running (including built internals, rods, pistons, etc.

I might just go with a Dezid s1 turbo kit to save the hassle but I dont want something everybody has. Everybody has Dezod s1. Dont get me wrong Dezod is amazing but I want something different just to be different. I want to get at least min 280 hp. But then again if I'm going to build the internals of the engine 320+ wouldn't hurt.

I should probably search which I will but I just wanted to ask anyways.

P.s I don't want to go over 4K on the turbo and 1K on the exhaust.. Maybe its not possible to get 300HP with 4K but I wouldn't know.

This 5K doesn't include the turbo tune.

You should buy Garage 1217s turbo kit. Its an Intense power kit and 100% custom and the only one around and hes selling it complete for just about $4K.

I dont have the money right now. I mean I have some money to buy some parts. But not 4K haha. I wanted to do custom so I can buy it part by part. Everybody also tells me to stay away from used turbos :-\.

If you don't have the money saved up, don't do it. Wait till the $ is completely saved before buying anything. And if I had about 4k, I would do TT or Dezod...

well, garage1217's kit is awesome, and unique, and if you wanted to, you could bye it, and and maybe buy a new turbocharger, or have it rebuilt. since that is the only part that can really do any harm.

i don't understand why you must be super unique. you either need to know what your doing to assemble your own turbo kit, or spend the money to get something that alot of other people don't have.

I think he wants it unique so he can go to a show and not have the same set up as the tC next to him

yeah, but the thing is that most turbo kits look alike already, just different manifolds, different air filter, and maybe a different brand name on the intercooler. i mean, from the shows i've been to with turbo tc's, you really have to look closely to see "oh, this is a dezod s1, this is a zpi kit, this is a turbotoyotas kit etc.
there are tons of ways you can dress up the engine bay to make it unique, like powder coating and chroming the plumbing, engine cover, chrome resevoirs, custom paint etc.

i don't know, maybe i'm just more practical and put function before form in most cases.

I think the TT manifolds get more attention then the log styles since they stick out a lot and have the cool curves. but all the turbo kits have the same basic stuff under the hood turbo, intake, bov...

Ikona can you tell us what you want????

Yes I can Scott!

As far as power goes I need it to be reliable I'm a real complainer about parts that are cheap. I hear allot about greddy that isnt great so Id rather not go with Greddy. I want min 280 HP Max theres no such thing as too much HP.

As far as looks. Id rather just get a turbo thats all polished or chromed and especially the manifold I want it to look real crazy. The mount of the turbo I'm not worried about. Top mount, bottom mount its no big difference. I want a big inter cooler with nice polished pipes. And a top of the line BOV. I wont sacrifice performance with looks because parts can always be sent out.

As long as I get performance, price, and looks all at a equal levle I'm satisfied.

The TT Simple Kit sounds like the most reasonable thing. Just ask Todd to give you the Equal Length manifold. You can also get it coated for the polished look.

if you wanna spend 4k on your turbo setup... you need at least 6k for the "oh snap my turbo isn't exactly in my budget" fund.

i would go for garage1217's setup, with the polishing itself thats already a bonus.. 4k will get you a brand new kit but not with all the details that garage did, not to mention thats already a complete kit to get it running and potentials up to 500whp.. you can start with that and just change some things after that.

^ yeah that would be good but I don't want to have the phrase follow "Yeah he got it off of garage1217's car"

I want something built from ground up.
