The basic and ultimate both modify signals the same way so they are both going to have the same problems. The Unichip is slightly better because it modifies outgoing readings and allows for a steady timing curve, the stock ECU does not jump in.

The best bet is the Hydra or AEM. Your tuner may not like them, but that's no reason to excuse them. There are plenty of AEM certified tuners around.

lol i am in no way saying the ultimate owns the AEM or Hydra standalone. I am saying for my current project, my situation, and my needs, it works. I am not building a high horsepower monster. This is my daily car (weather permitting) and I haven't taken the step to make the engine crazy yet.

If I build my motor and shoot for anything really nuts, I will use standalone because at that point any sort of financial concerns will be out the window.

You guys will know once I decide to step up my engine modifications...

I think we are going to be looking at around 10-12 psi with meth and see how that goes.
well good luck. just remember to take things really slow. it would be a shame to have yet another failed project tc.
HEY! Was that a crack at me?

...bottom line, any engine managment is only as good as the tune, and if his tuner is really good with the greddy, he shoudl be good with the greddy...

x2... plus it's his car and his decision. don't assume he's ready to spend the extra money yet. with a standalone you will spend much more on tuning because you can't just adjust how the factory ECU does things. you have to reprogram it ENTIRELY. there are PLENTY of people running emanages without issues. does that mean it is better than an AEM standalone? NO. did he claim that it was? NO. he wanted the ultimate. he bought the ultimate. he's going to use the ultimate. get off his nuts. thanks.

So what are you going to be using on the setup???
