aftermarket axles ? you talking bout the box ? thats all my bros stuff for his srt-4 powered 1st gen neon. I still need to get some stuff i clocked the turbo ill take pics of that when i go home. still at work so when i get home ill add more pics of what i have in particular. I installed the downpipe. Does anyone know how to install the intercooler ? I have 4 bolts and washers and two spacer things with brakets. a lil confused i can weld the washer things to my bumper and just have the brakets bent were I want them. but im sure this is not how they go so Input on that please, Ill install it when I get home.

you could reach your fingers in there? I knew you were a small guy but daaaaammmmnnnnnn....lol

op what i did was drill one hole in each bracket so that a bolt will fit in and bolt them to the intercooler. I marked dead center of the intercooler and made a center mark on the crash bar. this will give your alignment. align the two marks and try your best to get your spacing front to back...once your comfortable with the spacing (as long as the pipes will allow for that spacing) bend the brackets up to the crash bar. It will help if you have a friend hold the intercooler up for you or use a jack to hold the intercooler inplace (dont crush the damn thing....lol). reach your hand behind the crash bar and youll notice a crevice, from the front the crevice is denoted by the sorta weld line and a sort of crease, with the intercooler inplace where you want it mark that crease line onto your brackets and mark on the crash bar where the brackets layout. drill a hole in each bracket on the side that touches the crash bar. next drill two holes wher the brackets layed out, right in the middle of the crease line. Now just bolt it up, you can get a nut behind the crash bar in that crevice and hold it with your fingers. slip a bolt in the bracket and into the crash bar...not really hard imho...if you need pics i got a couple of shoots of the front.

ya I like that idea too, but would having the brackets beneffit any ? since the motor and all will be flexing so those IC pipes will constantly be moving.. . unless I get stiffer motor mounts. Ill probably try it this way and see how it goes. Does anyone have more indepth pictures of the intercooler pipes in sequence ? So i can check out the couplers used so I can order some soon. I clocked the turbo yesterday and installed the down pipe everything looks good. I didnt have time to get to the intercooler since I was done with the RX7 at 2 AM. Those things are a pain in the ___ to start when they have been sitting for a while or are flooded. this one was both. Ill post pics when I get home from school.

Ya ill check it out when I get home. Ill do it first thing before messing with the 7. Ill post pics with what I do. But I am guessing I can probably cut on both sides of were the braket is just enough and tack those threaded spacers in and then just drill a hole a bit bigger were I want the IC to bolt up. that way its easily removed if needed to. ill see what happens. I like Aces Idea too. Ill stop by the store on the way home and see what I can get together.

if you have the brackets to mount the IC i think that's easier.. that crash bar is one tough biscuit to drill and you have to go though several layers

ok I am done with my intercooler and I am about to take more pics. What I ended up doing was welding the extra tabs that I had laiying around to the front of the bumper and bending out the brakets to fit it. so now it bolts in and its easier to get off if i need to. I went over it with a bed liner spreay to clean it up and it looks nice. I am possitioning all my intercooler piping and I will take more pics tomorow with a better camera.

ok so I have found some time for the scion here and their and I took some pics of how I am coming a long with it. I used the left over of my throttle body coupler to put the other pipes on it to get a better idea of how everything will go. do the intercooler pipes rub on any of your guys set ups ? cause its really tight in a few areas on mine. it could be because of the couplers im using though too. let me know if I am wrong anywere or If something needs to move. does everything look like it should ?
