damn guys.... i started reading this post at page 12 a couple hours ago, i ended at 16 and ate dinner. now i see that it has grown to 19 and a new post averaging every 5-7 minutes.
Good luck today on getting the maf in right. At least take trends to small claims or something when it is all over.
I would say go to sleep, but whatchamafool in hawaii is several hours behind us here on the east coast.
:peace:

okay i went to the dealership today. the master tech showed me that the performance shop had lost a bolt for the exhaust manifold, so it's missing a bolt... other than that, we discussed options. i had to leave for class so we didnt get a chance to do the MAF thing yet. i asked him about that and he said it was possible but not likely... i'm not even getting spark. he said the plugs are fouled from all of the fuel dumping, so hopefully that's why there's no spark. he's going to put another pair in later today to see if it at least sparks, and at the same time he's going to do the MAF rotation. i dunno. to be honest, i'm not very hopeful. if i wasn't getting any spark whatsoever (keeping in mind my plugs were probably absolutely saturated with fuel), i don't know whether new plugs and the MAF thing will be the full extent of the problem. will update you guys later on when i know more.

we'll see... like i said, we haven't tried the MAF thing yet. and i guess the no-spark COULD be the fouled plugs. i'm supposed to hear back from them later this afternoon. either way, i'm going to choose a course of action tonight b/c i simply can't not have my car driveable. okay, class time. later peeps

I'm still very hopefull. it makes perfect sense. Your maf is DEFFINATELY backwards, and if so, it would turn over, dump fuel, and not start. If they tried it enought times, it would eventually foul the plugs. You even said yourself that it worked the first few times and then stopped working completey.
zip tie maf and new plugs should solve everything.

yea man keep that head up. im sure the car will be up and running before you know it. get teh new plugs and turn that damn maf around.
why didnt you do it when you where at the dealer? did they just rush you out of there? i would have been late to class...
p.s. go back later today adn fix it

alright. i'm going to head back over to the dealership in a few minutes because i NEED to know if the MAF/plugs are the problem. here's the update:
talked to performance shop manager; he refuses to take any responsibility in the problem, even though it may have been something on their end (like frying the ECU somehow). the special toyota service rep is at the dealership today until they close, so "technically" the dealership can't touch my car until tomorrow morning when he's not there. the performance shop will not return the car to stock unless i pay them another $1,000, so F*** that $hit. i doubt the dealership would know how to do it. that leaves me pretty much with one option: to put it back to stock on my own. so right now it's looking like no matter what the outcome is, i'll either have to spend a crapload of my own time fixing this or spend a crapload more of my own money. UNLESS IT's the MAF positioning (please God let it be this). so i'm heading back to the dealership shortly to see if they'll let me do the MAF ziptie thing and apark plugs by myself (in other words they're not really doing it so the rep can't care).
if this isn't the problem, though, i'm all the way back to square one. seriously. if that's the case, i may not be driving my tC for a LONG time.. it could really get ugly
