turbocharger temperature
Hey guys,
I ran a quick search for this, but nothing turned up. I even tried a post in the forced induction area. I was curious to see if anyone out there knows the answer to my question.
*During high output, what temperature does the turbocharger reach, the turbine and compressor housing in particular?
I know that there are many factors that attribute to the resulting temp.
-boost
-ambient air
-coolant temp
-etc
Would it be safe to assume 850-1000 °F?
for example AL melts at 1220.58 °F
lets hear your 2 cents

i belive i answered this question the first time you asked. place an egt probe somwhere on the turbo manifold, before the turbine. whatever temp the gauge registers is what temp your turbine is seeing.
why are you so curious about this?
