I know at that boost pressure you may be able to squeeze out a bit more. That turbo starts pushing REALLY hot air at over 12 PSI and with the small IC I know you can't go crazy with the boost but you may be able to run a bit more timing to get a b it more power from it. Do you know how much timing you were running at redline?

While I agree that he can get more out of it at that psi with E85, I can't agree that the turbo is "small" and pushes out only hot air.. These turbos see 20psi on SRT-4's all day making 400whp.

The IC isn't that small either. Yes it's not very tall, but don't forget it's also 3.5" thick. The Dezod IC is actually smaller.

Guru, I take it you have tuned a turbonetics kit. You couldn't have explained it better. The Turbonetics kits are good for what they were designed for and that was 8 psi and 250 to 275 whp. We have run into the same problem on the 350z kit and also the Spec V kit. We have converted both of them to E85, better engine management and made more power on a much safer tune. Not sure about the timing on the Tc at redline as Mike does all the tuning, but i am sure it is safe for a daily driven Tc.

You are comparing 2 different cars, 2 different motors and 2 different turbo setups. When you say "these turbos" are you talking about the exact same turbo the Tc kit runs? I'm pretty sure the SRT-4 guys pushing 20 psi of boost making 400whp are not running the stage 2 wheel.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Are you saying because our engines are different, the T'netics setup is only good for 275whp? That's ridiculous.

There are members on this board pushing over 300whp at 10-11psi on the Tnetics kit. Sorry but you should do your research first.

I did 275whp on 9psi with an the Unichip..which has very conservative timing. 3" exhaust and 93oct pump. You don't think I can get another 20-30whp by adding 2 psi and more timing?

turbonetics kit has been out for awhile, i often see numbers 250-310 on boost levels 8-12 psi and usually that is on 93pump gas, that is the basis why I am saying you could squeeze more numbers from the setup. Maybe thats how conservative the tuner or the owner would want it to be, thats cool as long as the owner is happy with what it makes.

If optimum power is the goal though, there should be more though.. If my tuner says thats all it could make w/ my tnetics on e85, i would just go to another good tuner and get second opinion

I am still running with the stock clutch so for now my setup is more than I could have asked for. I want to try to run this setup for a little while before I throw more money at it.

Your car runs hard. I can't wait to get the clutch and diff in. We should take it down to Lincoln and get some inflated Dynojet numbers.
