There was a thread on here a while ago with pictures of the cam buckets looking destroyed like that I think there was pictures of a cam lobe or two wiped out as well. So weird. I know domestics will have issues like this if your valve spring rate is too stiff but the upgraded springs for the tC are only minimally stiffer. With the domestic guys you are talking about 400in/lb greater over stock and usually damn near square cam lobes. That's massive. I spoke with Martin at Supertech about it because of the chromoly buckets they produced and they said that they were getting complaints of the buckets not holding up so maybe there is a material problem. Somehow that would not surprise me when it comes to Toyota, it seems lately what with threads pulling out of blocks etc that maybe they are using material that is just good enough for their intended purpose. You can calculate the required stiffness and elasticity of a material for an intended use and chose a material that closely matches that ensuring that in the end you are able to keep the costs to a minimum. Not sure.

^^ lol I noticed that when I took the pic with my iphone... they're not classy that's for sure.
Yeah the IC should help lower my IAT's... he actually did a good job with the bracket.
Julio was soldering in my injector wires last night and he was going to move the cam sensor closer to the cam dowel pins.. I'll follow up with him today to see if that was finished.

Back from the dead!
So I'm replying instead of updating my first post since now this forum will not allow all the images I had in the first post... oh well.
WOW...It's been quite a while since I've been on here.. where do I begin? Well I ended up leaving Olympic Motorsports with a half working car.. I'm not going to blame them - interest was lost and they had no idea where to go. Since then the car has been with me and life has prevented me from working on her at all! So the issue has still been with the cams or ECU.. I'm back on a Greddy Ultimate now (I still have the Hydra) and have been tinkering with it here and there. The car likes to stall every once in a while which is no biggie except when she's at full operating temp, she doesn't like to restart! I'm having a heck of a time with hot-starts. I have a feeling it is still related to cam timing because I keep getting a random misfire code - so just recently I've replaced the cam sensor and things seem to be going okay but I don't have a lot of time to play with it. Hopefully this weekend I can tinker some more and play around to see if I still get the hot-start issue. Since I'm doing this by myself, I'd have to keep her from stalling and purposely let her stall out at a gas station or something so that if she doesn't restart I can just sit there and wait a half hour or so. If I had a friend then we could just push start! ;)
I promise to take some recent photos - but she's definitely looking neglected.

I was wondering who was bringing up a thread this old lol nice to see your still around bud.. This forum is really quiet these days most people moved on or upgraded.
Not too familiar with the shops down south and not everyone can diag a boosted Tc properly. Shame though if you were up here in Orlando I could lend a hand or you could go too Real street or Titan.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I just wish I had some dedicated weeks where I can focus soley on this car.
So another update - bought a new cam sensor and it doesn't fix my issue. However while installing this sensor I began to piece some things together. The original shop had screwed up one of the dowel pins on the BC camshaft so he had a buddy make a new one. So I popped off the VC to check the pins... the original dowel pins from BC look to be too far from the sensor - and the new pin that was made doesn't seem to be magnetic!! So now I have to figure out if I want to pay someone money to take apart my timing chain and cam and install new pins.. ugh.

oouchie bro that's a pretty in depth job and setting the correct timing is vital as you know. It's a shame our motor isn't like a Honda where you can remove the the cylinder head with the engine still in the car.... smh oh Toyota's... I read a while ago the BC cams had that issue with the dowel pin not being in the correct position.. unfortunately I didn't know you were installing cams and could've given you a heads up...
No other members live close by and could give you a hand???

Ya I heard about the issue before having the cams installed - but leaving it to the shop to do their thing, I cannot attest to what they did or did not do. All I can tell is that the pins look far from the sensor and one pin isn't magnetic. I'm still waiting on BC to send me some new pins.
I really don't know of any members near by - anyone in Palm Beach county?? lol
How far is Ocoee? lol j/k
