Default turbonetics turbo option

Anyone know a good replacement for the turbo on the turbonetics kit 06'? Ive had problems with the turbo and my warranty is up. Im looking for something more reliable and maybe better quality. And whats the exact size on that, T3/T4 E-50 trim......? Maybe something with a similiar sized turbine. If you know any good replacements for it, let me know. Thanks

Call up Paul @ Dezod tomorrow and he will take care of you. He has a very vast selection to choose from and has a lot of knowledge in the field

I think I have the same problem. I can hear oil dripping into the heat blanket on the turbo and smell burning oil while driving.

Paul
Given that the unichip is hard to get retuned for a bigger turbo, how much would a good replacement turbo that's about the same size cost?

Range anywhere from $775-1500 depending on if it's BB or not etc...

So I decided to go with a Street Heat Innovative turbo, 50 trim .48 stage 3 for my turbonetics kit but there is a problem....... I got the turbo today from fedex and I realize the entire orientation of the turbine is about 90 deg off. The oil inlet and drain flange are horizontal when it would be mounted to the header and the boost outlet tube is like pointing up towards the radiator. Im guessing I cant make this work myself w/o having to send it back to dezod. What do you guys think?

Did you try clocking the turbo yet? You can change the orientation of the turbo by clocking(realining the way the compressor and exhaust housing mate to eachother) it and this will probly fix your fitment issues

Well alright. I guess this isnt as bad as i thought it would be. I wasnt aware it was as easy as just loosening and turning the housing. I think I can manage doing that. This wont screw up the balancing or anything like that? You guys have any pointers other than just loosening and rotating? Or is it really just that easy?

Can you please tell me what turbo you purchased? Were the AFR's still ok or did you have to re-tune? Great numbers, must feel great.

Hmmm. Looks good. What turbo in particular did you run? Also, I wanted to know what exhaust as well?

I went with the GT3076R, very nice turbo , only need minor mods to install it into the Turbonetics kit.
- add coolant lines
- weld on 90 degree elbow to outlet of compressor or 90 degree silicone elbow
- downpipe bracket connecting to engine block needs to be modified
- relocate boost line port (the one that connects to the WG) the GT3076R does not have a port on the compressor outlet so I connected it to the same place as the boost gauge.
